I quite like that song without the remix. Hans Zimmer is great :)

This is great!
I think the majority of instrumentals used in Pirates of the Carribean are awesome!
I especially love this one..

That one is actually done at a concert so it's not the best quality however it is very very veeery good. I can play this myself, although I do tangle myself up in the semi/demi quavers at times :(. My love for this is probably because I can play it with just an accompliment instead of the whole orchestra, but I can play the POTC ones too as they are rather moderate to play.

It fluctuates. Anyone who has me on MSN has probably noticed that I am a big fan of classical music! My favourites vary, and I have a "top list" of approximately 150 pieces that consist of my current favourites. However I'd say my most listened to, at this point in time, include:

Tuva Semmingsen - Lascia Ch'io Piango (Composed by Handel for his opera Rinaldo)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_j039ZwMkI

Also, The Flower Duet (from the opera Lakmé by Delibes)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qx2lMaMsl8

and finally (lol) John Harle's Silencium. I can't find the full version, so I'll post the Silent Witness opening sequence in which the music is used:

As you can see at the moment my favourites lean towards an operatic nature. For those who mentioned Debussy, I agree. I am a big fan of piano music too and that is why Einaudi is one of my favourite composers!

I generally like classical music as it tends to take you on an adventure and there are many ups and downs and really it just makes you think.

Just a few that come to mind:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U40xBSz6Dc

George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue - A masterpiece of a song that starts out with an incredibly difficult clarinet glissando in the beginning. It's very intereseting, and the piece features nearly all of the sections of the orchestra (especially the brass section, which I love because I am trumpet player).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogJFXqYEYd8

Shostakovich's Symphony no. 5, fourth movement - A very intense piece that really never gets boring. It's very cool to hear the main theme traded between instruments throughout the song. Plus, the opening and ending are a timpani players dream come true. Check out the conductor in the recording I included, he's fun to watch haha.

Allen Vizutti's Fire Dance - As a trumpet player, whenever I need some type of inspiration or motivation, this is the man I listen to, to find it. He pretty much is currently considered the best technical player of his time, and I have had the honor to see him play live, and some of the things he can do is unbelievable. You don't even need to know much about the trumpet to be entertained by his incredible abilities.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uMfXh4OOx8

Stravinsky's Rite of Spring - I'm just beginning to get into classical music, but this song is a great example of how music can be used to paint imagery or emotions into a person's mind. It's even hard to believe that this is the product of one person's work, but Stravinsky was clearly a genius. The changing meters and the harmonies are just... ridiculous. In a good way.

Well that should be a good start, hope you like what I posted! :D
