Do you talk to your pets?

and i dont just mean "good boy!" and that sort of pet-talk. i mean when no one is around, do you basically have conversations with your pet when you see them? sometimes if my cat comes in my room, ill say whats up, ask her how she is, what she did today, stuff like that, usually she meows when she knows im speaking to her so i just pretend that shes talking to me. ill tell my cat things too, like things about problems im having or ill apologize to her if i have to get her off my lap.

I sometimes talk to them, usually its a pretty one way conversation though D: I dont really ask him how his day was, but i tell him whatevers goin on and whatnot

I bet a lot of pet owners talk to their pets because they are part of the family - they can be like children to some people :)

I always talk to my pets there the best friend a person can have, they sit and listen, they dont moan about it or run away and they always look at you with caring eyes.

If you want to just sit down and relax and your pets there, there the best thing to talk to.

Yeah, I talk to my dog all the time, all of my family members do and he's deaf. Makes no difference. Love my pooch! :'D

I don't have conversations with my dog but for example if I was angry or something I might just look at my dog and go "I'm so mad" or something like that. Obviously she just stares back at me :|

and when I used to have a dog, I used to talk to her and when I go to my aunties house I sometimes talk to her dog.

Yeah I always do lol. I always ask my dogs how they are and stuff. Don't really go for the in depth conversation but I do like explain things I ask them to do even though they won't understand.

of course i talk to my pets ;)
as soon as my guineapigs hear my voice they start squeeking like mad - usually its cos they want their veggies though ;) sometimes they squeek if i walk past the door, i must have a recognisable walk haha
but as for my 2 cats, yes :) my little boy will just purr and squint his eyes at me and my little girl sometimes gives a little meow and purr in reply haha but i just chat away to them if im getting ready for going out or if im watching a dvd ill pull one in for a little cuddle and tell him/her to watch the film and explain who the gorgeous alan rickman is and whats going on haha
back in the good old school days with my exams i used to revise by reading my notes aloud to one of my cats :) ofc they were always asleep but they were secretly listening ;)

Yep, animals understand speech to some extent and like it, so it's useful for both the idiot talking to the animal and the animal :P I talk to mine all the time!

I talk to my dog yeah but I never have like a full on convo expecting a reply :P I just tell him like "ah im so bloody annoyed" and "hey mister" - yeah, Idk tbh. I'm just like it with my dog, I'd never talk to anyone elses lol.

I think everyone does, seems kinda natural. I mean you have pets for so long that they kinda become like people, part of the family. If i am like really annoyed i talk to my animals, i think it's because you know they can't talk back, they always listen.

I used to talk to my dog all the time. I do talk to Florence like as if she is a baby (as she is) but you don't really get much of a reaction from a tortoise :P :)

am i the only one who actually has conversations with their pets? hahaha, i just pretend they respond. like if my cat is hungry and he's meowing at me, ill talk to him and pretend his meows are responses.

I don't have a conversation with my dogs as they only growl or bark as an answer which really annoys me but obviously when they go on walks and have their dinner ect then I will HAVE to communicate with them unless they are a mind reader!
