signature limit

can we raise that darned limit? Or atleast remove the bb encoding part? so frustrating making a decent signature and only being allowed to have 1000 characters including [url=fvvvvvvvvvvv] tags etc.

i dunno, maybe 1000 characters would be fine if it didn't include the tags (like making links etc), otherwise maybe 1500 ?

If it's possible, make the BB codes (anything in the []) not use up your character limit.

I agree to the discounting links part, because all the characters in those can sometimes be somewhat ridiculous, leaving yourself with a very uneventful signature

Also could the same be done for visitor messages? I think its 700 characters and quiet a few times I've used that instead of PM as it is easier and had to use two messages just because I am like 100 characters over the limit. Could it be raised to like 1000 or something?

Yeah once I wrote a really long welcome message to a new forum user in a visitor message, then it goes YOU HAVE USED UP THE CHARACTER ALLOCATION, i swore loudly ;l

i wrote catzsy a Visitor MESSAGE once too, i had to split it over two messages or something.. even worse on an iphone (mobile skin)

so anyway, yeah I think having the BB code not count towards the signature limit would probably be the best idea... I mean the amount of times its moaned at me for that is outrageous. I wanted to kill it once.
