Do your parents let your have your Birthday or Christmas present early at all?
My mum let me have my Birthday present early since they were driving lessons that I needed to pay a month earlier :P
You?

Yeah we normally go on holiday at christmas so i get my presents like 19th/20th :D
No, that kinda defeats the object of the events themselves (if you look at them from a commercial point of view).

How do you mean "commercial point"?
birthday yeh sometimes, like i will this yr because i move to uni the weekend of my birthday, so we're gonna have my family birthday a week earlier.
christmas; never.
when i was little we used to get pyjamas on christmas eve, and that's about it.

Well birthdays and Christmas have become commercialised events. Birthdays are supposed to be a celebration of another year of life, whereas they are nowadays an excuse to get presents and / or money. Christmas is even worse, given that it's a religious festival that has become the number 1 time of year for businesses to capitalise on their products. So, giving presents (which are commercial products) before the event itself defeats the objects of the commercialised events they have become.
I guess unless you have valid reason, such as Bethie's, it defeats the object of the event itself by giving presents before the day has even arrived xD

We have always opened our Christmas presents on Christmas Eve (when everyone didn't believe in santa), have a late night (1am) and let everyone sleep in :P
In terms of Birthday's, I haven't actually had an early birthday present (or, that I can remember...)
Yeah, but I usually get something on my birthday as well.

The odd one yes, because games like Call of Duty come out on my birthday or a couple of days before so I'm just given the money to go buy them in case they sell out.

I do if it's something like a phone because I like to get a new one as soon as the contract ends. Or if it's a holiday then I get it way after my birthday, My birthday present this year (Was may) was a £1300 trip to America with school :')

Well my mum used to buy my brother, my dad and I pajamas to wear to bed on christmas eve, I suppose that could count seeing as they were still christmas presents.
I've had some gig tickets as an early birthday present too but generally I get most of my presents on the day :)
i am allowed them but i prefer them on the day

I wouldn't want to. I like having presents ON the actual day. :P
Yeah i used to get early birthday presants because i couldnt wait, but i like waiting now because on my actual birthday i never really got as much if i got it early :(
I think parents who give in to kids who get to open them for no reason are quite bad parents. No discipline on the childrens part. Good reasons are acceptable like holidays and stuff but other than that, it's stupid.
