Will you be able to carry the live membership over if you still have some running on the old 360 and are shops willing to give a decent price for trading the old one in for the new one? As GoldenMerc said but don't forget to sign out and remove the profile from your old xbox so someone else cant go on it.

once you've recovered it on a new one, you can wipe your memory. unless you're transferring it.
only way to do that will be with a memory stick 8gb at a time though.

and the price for trading in a premium xbox is like £50-60.
don't get your hopes up though, it's really hard to trade an xbox in.
if you've ever had anyone try fix it that isn't microsoft, they won't accept it because they can see case damaging & the warranty sticker won't be there.
and most places wont even accept an xbox older than 2008-2009.

From what I have heard, no. If you're talking about the placement of the heat sink.


New Ventilation System
On the older models of the Xbox 360, the ventilation system of the console can be found at the back and the heat sink transfers heat via the long heat pipe. In the new Xbox 360 Slim, it is now moved towards the top. By having just one fan that directly sucks out all of the heat without any use of a heat pipe, gamers are guaranteed to get all the heat out from the heat sink, which reduces the chances of the Xbox 360 Slim overheating.
