Do you help about around the house or do you just sit back and let your parents do it?

I'm a bit lazy really and don't like doing it but I do occasionally wash the pots, or put them in the dishwasher and I hoovered up for my mother today. I don't like doing the polishing or anything like that but I always do my own washing.

What about you?

I have to :( my parents are big believers of the whole 'doing chores make you a well rounded person' concept!
I do the dishes every Monday - Friday (get weekends off whooo!), feed, let out, put away and clean the chicken, feed the cat and in the summer cut the grass when it's not raining.

I'd rather just sit back and let my parents do it because I'm lazy though ;)

I normally wouldn't but sometimes, normally my room, I'll just randomly start tidying, and I've tidied up the whole downstairs once like proper hoovered and dusted everything because I was bored...
Normally I just wash dishes though :P

Yes I get treated like a slave, like last night for example I was locked in the kitchen all night. They said when they wake up in the morning they want EVERYTHING to be sparkling, I did a really good job.

I do both gardens daily, I water the plants around the house, change the guniea pigs, hoover the back living room and sometimes i'll clean my bathroom/hoover other parts of the house. Oh and by choice - i'm not forced. :P

I do some stuff. My dad made a rota (lol) and if my brothers dont follow it theres no point i do it as he'll just moan at us all and say we all do not do them.

I cut the acre of grass behind my house; that's fun!

Other than that, emptying the dish washer, vacuuming, bringing down the clothes hamper, cleaning my room and computer desk, occasionally giving our cats food! Fixing everyones computers (and oh dear god nobody around here is computer literate!) Lately cooking meals because of some family related issues.

In all honesty I could be doing a lot more. I think all of us on HxF sleep in beds, have running water, presumably electricity (hence the computers), and when I just take advantage of having all that and a nice home to live in without helping make things tick I just experience an overwhelming feeling of being spoiled.

Good idea for a thread, Nicki.

my only responsiblitly. is to keep my bedroom clean.. because my Step Dad believes we should have fun, and not do work. like mow the grass, rake the leaves or shovel snow, and my mom does the cleaning and dishes. so im let off pretty easy.

I do nothing tbh, my mum does it all! She offers to do it to keep her mind off things! I offer to help but she is always like no! I was my own pots though if i'm on my own for the weekend.

I do some stuff, like if the dishes need doing I'll do them, just stuff like that. I dont really do it on a daily basis, just when no one else has done it yet or if im really bored ;)

I love polishing!! It's funny spraying stuff on household objects. :D

And hoovering, I just seriously use a whole tub of shake 'n' vac.

If I can be bothered I'll wash my plate up, but sometimes I ask my dad if I have to and other times he shouts asking why I didnt.

Also, I hardly ever cook. I burnt a toasted teacake, I burnt chips etc.

But I make my own crumpets now.
I daren't use the gas cooker though.

Also, I ironed once, in Textiles in year 8, (i only ironed a piece of paper, and had to ask someone how to turn the iron on) and i havent used one sicne.

well i let in/out the cat and feed him if i hear him. I wash my own dishes/or if theres dishes in the sink when i go to wash mine. I keep my room clean n all that. I put my clothes by the washing machine and put them in my cupboard.

I do most things apart from the washing up. I do all of the food prep and cooking so that's the only break I get. I normally keep the kitchen, living, dining, bathroom and toilet clean and tidy as well as making sure when we need new things i.e. soap, toilet roll, food that I know for when we (I) go shopping. It isn't unusual either to see me outside with the Dyson, vacuuming the patio and paths in the back and front garden. That sounds mad but its a damn easier than using a broom, dust pan and brush. I also normally cut the grass as well as planting all of the baskets and containers in and around the house. Unfortunately, what with having to share a room with my slightly older brother my room looks like a bombs hit it, mostly because of his laziness I can't be bothered.

But yeh, I do most things in my house lol.
