Hey, just wondering if that could be decreased or removed? I know 15 seconds isn't exactly ages, but it's annoying when you double click the search button and then it says 'You have to wait 15 seconds before you can search again' I don't get why it's there, what harm can anyone do from not having to wait between searches? It would be a lot easier and less boring to use this feature if you didn't have to wait! Thanks.

Could see it get reduced I suppose if Jamesy thinks it wont do any harm

I believe the feature is there because having everybody doing multiple searches would ultimately result in more queries and as such, slow down the server. It's not uncommon for almost every search feature to be in a similar way to avoid issues.

Maybe a 8 - 10 second cooldown time then? I know it's not a big deal but if your looking for something and you have to keep waiting the seconds do add up...

I don't have the 15 second wait anymore thank god. It used to annoy the hell out of me.

I think it would be useful if you didn't have to wait 15 seconds if your last search produced no results.

The current cause of a lot of server issues I believe stems from the search. I certainly wouldn't advice reducing the search cool-down time.

The wise man has spoken! I know it's annoying, I hate it - but yeh I'd rather not the forum be slower :P

It's rare that a search would return no results

I think to help people clarify why this wouldnt be clever, is cuz alot of people, like me, like to click the "New Posts" button and that basically is a search which just looks through the most updated posts.

I can see why Jamesy wouldn't wanna reduce it for that reason, I hammer that button enough! :P

Normally its just when I search for threads I remember from past times in the Tech section, I mis-word things a lot :P
