The values are still way off course for example gold bars are selling for 20hcs + now days and on habbox it says they are 16. Loads of the other values are off target as-well. Is there some sort of hold-up? I don't see many rare values updates, new recruits etc.

Hiya.

The departmental activity is something that is being looked into. As for new recruits: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=657781 that is the most recent update but a few trialists have been added recently. Moreover the Rare Values team is quite large already with a team of very dedicated reporters.

We understand that the following the merge Habbox Rare Values are now struggling to reflect the rare values on the hotel and Management are currently engaged in discussion as to how we can make the Rare Values system not only accurate but also new, refreshing and relevant. With the rise in the Marketplace and the shift from HC to coin trading we need to do something different to ensure that the RV appeal to users for more than just the HC values we used to provide. Improvements are on there way and I understand -:undertaker:- is in the process of drawing up some plans that will, hopefully, deliver on my statements.

Further to this it is something that will be discussed in the upcoming Department Manager's meeting.

If any members have any suggestions as to how we can make Rare Values the significant part of the website it was pre-merge, they are welcomed :).

Firstly I think the rare values department has been neglected allot recently, the only way to attract people back would be to possibly relaunch the values? The only way your going to over power the marketplace is if you make things more accurate. Have better graphs than habbo, show how much a rare is dropping. Get the casinos on your side. If you have the rich fanatic habboers on your side there won't be much struggle.

Don't concentrate on trades concentrate on the market place average price, then look at the 'street price' and see if its really selling for the amount in the marketplace. When someone searches for an item in the search bar have thread suggestions appear under that item. For example if I was searching for the price of a red amber threads about red ambers for sale / buying would spear beside it or below it or something. I know they could easily head over to the habbo marketplace and buy it but there is sometimes some good deals on rares on hxf.

Probably no help but it needs all the help it can get if I'm perfectly honest.

I know that Roxy has tried her very best to get the popular casinos / trade rooms to have "Habbox.com for rare values". In return they get their room linked to a page on Habbox.com which is helpful for them :). It would be an advantage for us to continue this with other casino / trade room owners who we do not yet have contact with, particularly those who come from an international background pre-merge.

A values relaunch is a good idea and I think that we could possibly incorporate this into -:Undertaker:-'s up and coming ideas that will change the values drastically. I'll admit there have been some issues surrounding the updating of Rare Values but this is something that is being looked into and will hopefully be resolved as soon as possible. If we tie in -:Undertaker:-'s update to an improvement on the graphs and other features combined with rare values (a rare calculator, perhaps?) then we could most certainly relaunch on that basis. It would be nice to launch together with Habbox v6 but given that this is a relatively urgent issue the timeframe on v6 probably won't give us that opportunity. It is something that can be looked into however.

I really like the idea of linking the rare values search with a search on HxF. I assume it's possible and we can look into seeing it done. It's a very good idea :).

Oh just to add to my above posts, RVRs are now reporting in coins rather than HCs - this took place last night, so it's one more step in the right direction. The change in currency on Habbox.com should be happening in the next couple of days.

I'll be the first to admit the RV department has been struggling, and this has been shown in the values themselves. I've been working harder on the staff side of things, trying to get the department more active than when i got ARVM. I've also been working on getting loads more collections added to the site, still a few missing but i am slowly getting through this, while Undertaker works more on the updating side.

I think in future the Rare Values needs to be seen as a resource for rares on the hotel, giving you more info rather than just the values. Things are being worked on to correct, change and relauch the way we handle out rare values.

If you have any suggestions don't hesitate to PM me and Undertaker.

I think as the others have stated, the main focus needs to be moving the department away from reporting (which is basically useless now with marketplace & street knowledge) and moving towards advice and information - something which we have the manpower, know-how and ability to do. I think it were you Richie who posted not long after the merge that the department might as well be closed - back then I disagreed with you but I can now see what you mean. If the department closed tommorow and the values disappeared, would it really affect or even matter on the hotel?

The answer is no, and thats what we need to change. The department will never be as powerful or as important as it was in the past, but it can still serve well and can take the burden of content and info away from the Content department which is weighed down in almost everything, from Habbo history to Habbox history - which is a never-ending task in itself. :P
