What do you think about it?

And he (i.e. man) presents for Us an example (i.e. attempting to establish the finality of death) and forgets his [own] creation. He says, “Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?” Say, “He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing.” [It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite. Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator. (Quran, 36:78-81)

And they say, “There is not but our worldly life; we die and live (i.e. some people die and others live, replacing them) and nothing destroys us except time.” And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming. And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, “Bring our forefathers, if you should be truthful.” Say, “God causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt,” but most of the people do not know. (Quran, 45:24-26)

Surely God will raise all the dead. But God has His own plan of things. A day will come when the whole universe will be destroyed and then the dead will be resurrected to stand before God. That day will be the beginning of a life that will never end, and on that day every person will be rewarded by God according to his or her good or evil deeds.

But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour (i.e. the Day of Judgment) will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [God is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register - That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision. But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure (i.e. to undermine their credibility) - for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature. (Quran, 34:3-5)

I also unfortunately agree with this. Religion and the whole idea of life after death was put into place to make the world a better place, e.g live a good life without being bad so when you die you go to heaven.

And life before life? A sperm met an egg, cells multiplied and created you. Death is just the opposite process.

I don't really agree with the ideas of heaven/hell, but I believe in ghosts :P

Even though I would like to, I just can not bring myself to believe in life after death. The way I see it death brings nothingness. We just disappear, our existence is over. Thats what makes me fear death, the very thought of ceasing to exist. It's scary. I know a great deal about various religions and their beliefs concerning the afterlife, but to me they're all just myths. I would like to believe, I would like to have hope, but believing in the unexplained just seems absurd.

What we turn into a sperm cell and an egg?

You just die and there is nothing. You can't think or anything, you just don't exist any more. If any are true though I beleive the closest one is reincarnation.

i dont feel that way, i feel religion came about because of man's insistence of explaining the world around us. people are never satisfied with not knowing things, so during history we've simply made our own explanations in order to fill the void and feel complete. i think what we tried to make of religion was a better way of teaching peace in life, but that wasnt the primary goal.

i wasnt raised religious at all, i never went to church and my parents never talked about religion, but i do remember growing up and my mom making snide remarks whenever she saw something on television about god or someone claiming something was a "miracle." luckily i havent inherited her cynicism but im still not religious at all, so no i dont believe in anything after you die. you just stop function and degrade into the ground until we can use your former body to fuel our cars. the only thing religious that has ever made remote sense to me was the idea of reincarnation, but even that i dont believe in.

Utter peace.

Ceasing it exist isn't that scary when you realise you won't feel it... maybe that's the scary part about it.

Life is for living.
