I'm 17, albeit I look 15 but around this time of year people in my school year start to turn 18, unfortunately I dont turn 18 until May which is an annoyance. Sometimes I can get into bars without ID although it is 50/50 for me, well it has been with past experiences. Any idea or does anyone have tips in a similar situation. I dont have any family members older or around the same age as me which sucks too.

I would suggest trying to stick with groups of people who look older, if you are with them and someone is unsure about letting you in they can back you up by saying you are the same age and they wouldn't of let you come out with them if you were not. It's quite hard for a young man to make himself look older, girls can simply slap a load of makeup on, do their hair, wear high heals etc and they can add years onto themselves. I wouldn't worry too much though as you are approaching 18 so you'll simply be able to show your ID soon.

You could always get a fake ID until you're actually 18, but I wouldn't recommend that, nor would there be much point now.

I can understand that having older siblings over 20 who still get ID'd.

If you want to be getting into the clubs then your best chances are the quieter clubs, they will be much more lenient with who they let in as they will want the money. If the club is thriving they'd just rather not take the risk.

also; once the novelty of clubs wears off (and it will), pubs are much more mellow and far far far easier to get into. (:

Don't bother getting a fake ID, 99% of the time they won't work - unless of course you know somebody who can get fake DVLA licences and/or a passport.

The only ID that they will accept is Driving Licences and Passports. Fake ID will never work, the bouncers at the doors of pubs & clubs aren't anything to do with the pub itself.

I'm 19 and I'll get IDed everywhere I go. Sometimes I don't get IDed when it's about 3am and I'm drunk already or if the bouncer is chatting up some drunk woman.

The only thing you can do really is go with people who look older and try and dress older :)

Seems like you're out of options, just wait the few months and keep trying to get lucky. Other than the ideas suggested, not sure what else you could do.

I know what you mean, but if you find a solution then tell me. Considering im the youngest in the year, EVERYONE will be turning 18 before me and i dont look that old (especially since im not the tallest guy around), so i think ill need some help too :p.

i use my mates passport incase but i very rarely get asked because i look around 20+

but i have had it confiscated before by the police, they caught me out on the street and asked for bank cards which didnt match with the id

you can get jailed for this **** but i'm still gonna do it till i'm 18 haha

edit; i also got my mate to buy a citizen card www.citizencard.com and i bought it off him, i use this from now on

well if you really need id, even use an older friend with the same colour hair, i lend mine to this fat blonde girl (im ginger) i work with and she got into box and beach club with it and she doesnt even look like me lol.

we don't get asked for id unless we're with GUYS who don't look old enough, i've been getting in local places since i was 15. if i get id'd when i'm 18 they're gonna be like wtf when they see my d.o.b and that i've been underage for so many years :/ they probably already know though, there's no point going somewhere regularly because when you get real id they'll notice, you may aswell stick it out and wait.

if it's a one/off make sure you're already tipsy, i normally go in with a group of people and chat to just them, hand over money to the bouncers and don't give eye contact to them, they probably won't notice.

thats actually odd because theyve got really strict, the bouncers are complete ********* though, the bouncers at rain are awfulll, ive heard stories of them randomly beating up boys because they dont like the look of them, or if they dont like the way you look you wont even get in.. i just hate everywhere in belfast now anyway :)

My driving licence photo was taken when I was 16 and I'v changed a lot since. So if you can find somebody who has a young photo that doesn't look like them, yet alone you - you might be able to pass it off. Just make sure you know their full name, spelling, date of birth and their address lol. If the bouncer is unsure, he'll ask you a random question.

I personally would never lend my driving licence to anybody though.
