Do i put em on like that?

k ive put em on like that anyway. If its on wrong or i need more heatsinks then ill just get the turbo module asap

i think i needed more heatsinks and thermal paste. 75 idle isn't good, it's worse than before lol.. I'm not gonna even dare play a game

actually i think it's just thermal paste. And I should of cut one of the voltage regulator heatsinks in half so it fitted better

The smaller you make the heatsink, the worse it's going to cool the vrm chip. Bad move.

im gonna buy some new ones for the vrms. The ones I got with my cooler were made for the chips to be like

but 8800gt is

so they don't fit. I need square ones.

So

Heatsinks for vrm

where can i get some new heatsinks for my vrm

and lol k no running games until I fix my cooler. Ran up a source game and my temp shot up to almost 100

If you're talking about the core temperature being over a hundred, then the problem is with the main heatsink's contact with the GPU.

yeah the cooler already had thermal paste ready on it's heatsinks etc and I just thought hmm dunno if I need some more and I probably do cos there was hardly any on there tbh. I guess they do that on purpose so that you'll buy their one.

I have the accelero s1 rev 2 without the turbo module. Do you think It'd be alright if I just get the turbo module instead of more heatsinks because they're all partly covered (like in first post, second picture)

gonna buy:

I got the stuff but it's still running idle in the 60s which is where it was with the stock cooler. And the turbo module comes with a 3 pin power plug so i can't plug it into the graphics card slot and I don't have a spare one of my mobo.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter for the fan so that I can plug it into my graphics card?

also with gpu-z what should I trust more? :P The gpu driver says the core temp is 65 but the adt7473 sensor chip says 56

Actually it's not in the 60's it's decided to go in the 70s now so it's back to where it was yesterday. I put thermal paste on the gpu and spread it so it covered it.. HOW CAN IT BE HOT STILL

You should have bought the cooler I recommended. :P

I didn't wanna pay £37 for the cooler and fan :P Plus it would probably be hot with that too. I think it's my case airflow maybe? I probably need a fan on them. So stupid though because I looked on other online shops and they actually give you a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter but the place i bought mine from didn't :S

Off website: "3 pin plug (with power plug convertor)" I didn't have a converter in mine.. Stupidstupidstupid. Seriously everythings going wrong when I've been putting this in. First the temp, then a screw got wedged on my mobo and now I haven't got a converter for the 3-pin fan power plug

finally I can play games again! Took it all apart, made sure I made that gpu sparkle then reapplied the thermal paste to everything. I also took some of the slots out of the back of my case for better ventilation and I'm getting 65-70 load on games. I've ordered a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter which should arrive next week so I'll have the fan installed then which should drop the temp.

But I'm happy I can play games til then, atleast it isn't going in the 90s on a flash game anymore..
