In bed and you hear someone breaking in...

If you were in bed one night and you heard a really loud bang or smash, assuming someone was trying to break into your house what would you do? Also do you have any kind of weapon in your bedroom that you have there just incase you were put into a situation such as this?

I'd probably jump out of bed, grab my axe handle (basically a solid metal bar that once had an axe on the end used for chopping wood, very light to swing but carries a lot of momentum), I'd then run next door and wake my dad up as quick as I could, I suppose I'd let my dad make the decisions from then on. If something like this was to happen for real, you aren't likely to make the same decisions as you would now so you never really know what you would do but I'm pretty sure I'd do this.

unplug my phone charger. that thing is like ****** massive and has the metal bits stickin out. Also very easy to swing like a flail. I imagine id be one to go first but my mum would probably hold me back and she'd go.

I have an extendible baton next to my bed so I'd pick that up, creep down the stairs while telling my mum to ring the police. If there was anyone down there they'd get pretty darn messed up by me, because I have young siblings and I am not willing to allow them to be in any danger even if it means I have to break the law to ensure their safety.

anyway id get this old replica shotgun out from under my bed (double barrel, looks real and is easy to hold on to and swing about).

You are all way braver than me. I would probably be too froze with fear to even move. I guess I would slowly reach for my phone trying not to make any sudden movements, and pretend to be asleep whilst phoning the police somehow. It's really hard to think about it, and I hope it never happens. I guess the only weapon I have would be the abillity to belly flop them or something, or smash something on them I guess xD pretty scary to think about

I'm sure I could SOMETHING in my room as a weapon... but either way, dad keeps the iron fire poker by my parent's bed and we could just grab the air rifle from his study if we needed to.

I would probably jump out of bed and grab my old rifle bayonet, as it would scare them more than a bat or some sort of hitting object. I would then wake up my parents or if I am the only one in the house I would probably start shouting and making a lot of noise and activity to try and scare them off. If they then came upstairs I would act like a mad man, swinging the bayonet around and saying I have called the police and that they're on the way. If the robber has a gun then I guess it's over for me. Of course that's all objective. No one knows how they will act in a situation until they have encountered such.

And my mum went up, my sis grabbed a knife for me n her and we stood by the door. Turns out my cat locked himself in my room and couldnt get out so started meowing when he heard us come home.
