24 - 30 Million bid for James Milner, a player only worth around 12 - 15 Million...

And other transfers done from last season... Ok, they have the money to burn, 100 million is pennies to them but what they are doing in the transfer market is ridicoulous and unhealty for other 'major' clubs looking at potenital players they would like to add to thier squad because every team knows how rich City are, they will automatically put ridicoulous price tags on thier players knowingly if City want, they will pay over the odds.

In certain cases, i agree with Alex Ferguson, there isn't even value in the market but unfortantely, as long as City is around, and they have the money to burn then we'll just hope the players minds were after isn't money driven and would want to come to a Club like Manchester United.

Now on to Mario Balotelli, apparently is 50 - 50 of the deal happening, talks had broken down, and it's going to be intresting to see how much City offer him in wages after Tax. If Yaya Toure is on 220K, then i guess city will have to match that, or even go a little higher. Apparently, he's holding out for 300k a week. Stupidly, City would pay that.

I just think Mario would do a lot better at Club like United. Why? Because everyone knows he's not the best role model or a player that can be easily approched or to handle but under the guidence and the watchful eye of SAF, i think he'll be able to put him on the straight and narrow and make him and even better player he is now. He has a MASSIVE ego, and if he goes to city, i can see it only getting worse, as he'll be surrounded with a lot of other players with big egos.

City are just buying the title.. You could argue that Every Major team who competes for top flight titles or domestic titles do the same, but the difference is between these big other top flight Clubs, they don't pay, hugely over the odds, attact big superstars by offering them overly inflated wages and ect.

Tbh, your getting these good players coming to City saying, oh 'I came to City to try and make history' 'City haven't won titles for ages, i want to be part in City history by winning tiles again' is all rubbish. The reason why they go thier is for the money. Simple as.

If i'm honest, I'd much rather City buy from Italy/Germany/Spain as they have been doing instead of English clubs to help the PL grow more.

There is value in the transfer market. Just look at Oezil. He'll cost around £15-20 Mill because of his contract and that's a very good price.

I just wish City will hurry the **** up with their business. They have slowed the market right down and clubs willing to sell good players are waiting for them to show an interest. They know what they're doing. They'll line up Milner for the last day so Villa lose a good player and don't have a chance to re-sign anyone. They'll tempt them with a smaller cut price offer at first then just chuck it up to their asking price on the last day.

Randy Lerner does have the funds, he just wants to see if Villa can run on it's own two feet as a business this season (obviously not), and he wants to free up the wage bill before buying anymore players. If Martin O'Neil decides not to sign anyone but use some of our youth talents then I would be happy, but if he's planning on still using the same 11 especially if Milner goes (Which means replacing him with... Sidwell -.-), then I wont be happy :@

I too would agree with Sir Alex about the market having no value! The man is an expert when it comes to the transfer market so I for one would laugh in the face of anyone who does not agree with the man when the topic is about value! Sir Alex has that talent which you simply can't learn, he has what every manager dreams of; an eye for talent at the right prices. He's proved in the past what a world class manager he is. Who could argue that £31,000,000 on Berbatov, £17,000,000 on Hargreaves (did he get a free medical table with that deal?), £17,000,000 on Nani the seal, £18,000,000 for Anderson, £16,000,000 for Valencia, £5,000,000 for Kleberson are not great value! Oh and of course he's able to get English talent for cheap (Carrick; £17,000,000 & Rooney; £27,000,000).

Sir Alex has a vast experience in the market with his eye for talent at the right price. It dates back over ten years from when he purchased Gary Pallister who was the most expensive defender a the time. Sir Alex manages to assemble quality teams on the cheap, the famous 92/93 team was only the most expensive ever assembled at the time and the only home grown player in it was Giggs!

Yaya Toure is not on 200K+ per week, his agent and the club were quick to dismiss this. Mario Balotelli is not holding out for 300K a week either, the deal is rumoured to be around 65K per week... less than Manchester United offered him! Although I must agree with you again. Balotelli would be more suited to Manchester United because of his attitude. I mean, it's not like Mancini was the manager who gave Balotelli is debut at Milan and it's not the same man Balotelli has said he sees as a father figure. Oh no, it's not that Roberto Mancini.

On a different note, Clowgon does have a point about other big club teams not over-pricing just because they can. If I remember correctly the most expensive player Chelsea bought was £30 million in Andriy Shevchenko and that was a one off.
