Could you live without a pet?

I was thinking the other day, if my family didn't have our cats then I think life would be a bit different. MY cats bring a sence of happiness almost to the house and make it a nice place to be imo. I can't imagine living without them, I recon there'd be more arguments and more stress.

Could you live without a pet?

I'm a pretty big fan of pets - especially cats. It livens things up, having a cat running around the house :)

Its proved that a cats purring relives stress in a stressful situation.

No I doubt it. Thomas (cat) is so cute and we treat him just like another member of the family.

I can, but extremely hard. When we lost our dog, I thought I wouldn't be able to but sadly we have to with my mums long work shifts :(

It's still not the same and this was a few years ago. Coming home to an empty house, having to pick food up off the floor, nobody to cuddle when you're feeling down :(

Yeah like one of my cats, every night sleeps on my bed. He really likes the attention. The other cat (whiskers) is quite timid, but he's got some character to him and he really likes the attention aswell. They are basically part of the family

I can, but its not easy. We lost our dog couple of months ago, it was very hard to deal with at first because they got the dog before they even had me so she had been in the family for quite a while. The things that i found hardest to cope with at first was getting used to not doing those little things like putting out the dog food, clean water, coming home to an empty house etc... Before any of this happened i thought i wouldnt be able to live without my dog but life goes on i guess.

And it's a bit worrying for people that can't, because what will they do when their pet dies?!

My fish all seem to hate each other, and another lot of snails have found their way into the tank- other than that, the gentle whirring of the pump soothes me to sleep.

they are a lot of effort, but it's worth it.
Dogs for instance;
when they're puppies their messy, disobedient and distructive, if you put in a lot of hardwork and effort they can turn into really calm loving animals.

I think it would be way different without pets, i walk them and all that and they make our household less stressfull and they have a place in our family now soo lol. it would be way different :L

I couldn't. I have lived my entire life with either a cat or a dog in my house. Living without a pet just wouldn't feel right.

Well I dont have any pets, apart from my bloody fish which has been alive TOO long and I really want a puppy, but my mums against it because of all the cleaning she will have to do, all the vaccinations and money needed to feed the dog. She says she has a whole family to do that after, but I really want a dog :'(

When my nan cat's and dog died i had to live without seeing them but i have never had a pet in my house just at my nan's house

i do love my dogs & parrot, but if they weren't there it just means i'd be able to let people in the house without them getting jumped all over & thier crotch getting sniffed.

I couldnt not having my two dogs in my life, one of them is 9 years old now and the other has just turned 3 so she's still very puppy like. They just cheer me up and often make me feel safe :)

I don't think I could. I walk the dog each week. If i didn't have a dog, I don't think I'd be as fit as I am now.
