what s HL HL :s
moderators on habbo are pathetic.
they banned garion for doing a giveaway ;l
they dont check logs or anything just ban you for nothing.

Nixt

I am well confused by this. The only reference I can find on HL-HL is a House of Lords case (hence HL) on copyright fraud (lol) and I don't think that is related to the ban. So no idea what that means.

It's pretty weird, I whipped him up an appeal anyway so hopefully he gets unbanned.

Yes I hope he does too. Bad luck there, Richie :(

hl is probs their own code and for their own reference
maybe its the mods name/"id" so they know who to refer to

THIS IS RICHIE'S APPEAL:

To whom it may concern,

At approximately 18:15 BST on Tuesday 3rd August 2010, my account “Volvics” was banned on the basis of “suspected fraud”. Firstly, I am confused about how one can merely “base” a ban on “suspect” behaviour of any kind. I was under the impression that any ban issued by Moderators was subject to an evidential requirement and I have never heard of anyone being banned on the basis of mere suspicion. This is my first angle of appeal – what evidence do you have and indeed, why was I banned with what can only be circumstantial evidence? One imagines that a lack of evidence negates any ban issued on my account.

Secondly, I am appealing on the basis that I did not commit the offence suggested. I understand that to commit fraud one must intentionally deceive another for personal gain. I fail to see where this has happened? I was taking bets in a casino, created by myself, where I took a bet from an individual who wished to play the casino game “poker” – an adaptation of real life poker on Habbo. During this game, I bet him by getting a number of “fives” whereas he got a number of “fours”. Five is the higher number and, as such, I won. Following this win the individual from whom I took the bet attempted to claim that I had scammed him. I carefully took the time to explain the rules of the game, and had the support of another user in the room (Nixt) who had witnessed the game and had therefore, witnessed by win.

I must stress that the user was not scammed and I successfully won the bet. Furthermore, he gave me the furni and therefore bet at his own risk; unfamiliarity with the rules of the game really does not suggest I had scammed. Equally, I was under the impression that casino bets are taken and made at the risk of the user and as the furni in question is willingly given away, Moderators can take no action (this is not to say I did anything wrong, this was just my understanding which aids my appeal further in negating the ban).

I ask that you look into the evidence surrounding the situation and either;
a) Supply me with the reasoning behind the ban, with solid evidence rather than suspicion.
b) Lift the ban as I believe it to be unfair, and I feel the chat logs and evidence supplied will verify that.

Kind regards,

Richard

The TOS you all signed to access Habbo, states that they can ban any account without reason and no prior notice.

Yes, but one would assume they would rarely take such action and they normally have an evidential basis to all bans.

Just tried to login and I'm banned for the same reason... what the heck x.x

"You have been banned! The reason for the ban is "Banned based on suspected fraud (HL-HL-23092) (id: 1502070)". The ban will expire at 12/30/21 4:15 AM Eastern Time."

And a very good appeal it is too. I got warned today for saying 'numbers' when getting some lottery tickets. We have to say digits ?????? :S

I got muted today for this exact reason, i was helping Roxy sell lottery tickets, i said numbers and got muted. Then roxy told me to say Digits as she had already been muted on numerous occasions.

I think they have an automatic warning system if you say "number", they probably relate it to phone numbers :P. "credit" is also warned so that's probably related to the phone thing again.

It's ridiculous, what a silly ban. Hope you get unbanned Richie. :)

Nope I'm not too bothered really, its only habbo. It annoys me how much errors they make. I don't play habbo anymore if I get my account back I might play again but until then I won't xD. At the end of the day they are losing users.

Hmm it seems a bit weird how a lot of people are getting banned for only moving their stuff to another account but life goes on I suppose I just make another account haha

Habbo staff are tards. If you take a look at the support you get from Blizzard ( World of Warcraft ), they will restore EVERY item if you get hacked, refund items if you accidently purchase them, and even restore a character if you delete it, all within usually 8 hours. They put Sulake to shame, but atleast 0rca is still with Sulake!

DJ::Beatz
12-08-2010, 02:19 AM
I completely agree Nova. 0rca, imo, has always seemed to actually approve things unlike other hotels(back when there were other hotels) when they would just not give a ****.

Blizzard is a great company, they may take long to restore your items, but they do it and they not like habbo saying "If you've gotten hacked, its your fault, have better security". If blizz can handle every claim they have, Habbo definately should have no problem.

use the help tool and ask them to provide proof of the suspect fraud you have commited , and if they can only then will you accept the ban as legitimate & fair
