right, i'm going out with a mate from work today for the first time out of work.

what i'm wondering is is there anyone you'd ever go out with from college or work? and if you go 6th form & it's full of people you already know or whatever, that doesn't count.

like, in college there are 3 people in my class that i knew before, and i've known all 3 of them for like 5 years. i'd only do something with 1 of them and have done stuff with another, but not so much anymore. but there's like 13 other people in my class, and i've got to know them over the past year & really like them, but i don't think i could ever like spend a day with them or whatever? think i'd run out of things to say.

and with work, like i got like 3 friends there already, and me & 2 of those go down town most wednesdays, but like out of people i didn't know, there's only 2 people i really get on with, and i'm going cinema with one today. which i'm really looking forward too.

sorry about it being long & complex. 8-)

well you're not gonna make more friends just staying with the ones you already know:S
some of our college class went out after the first month of meeting and no-one knew each other before, was a bit awkward but after a few drinks it was fine and i was able to pick out the type of people i'd want to go out again so ye......

I would just go for it, if it's awkward just make up an excuse and say you have to be somewhere or something. Its always good to make new friends!

I wouldn't go out with most of the people at my work because a lot of them are into manly man things like drinking beer and going on the pull whereas when I go out I like to just dress camp and dance amazingly, but the actual idea of going out with work friends isn't one I'm against

well i go sixth form and i've been going to clubs and raves with people i've never been with before so i guess it does count.

guess the conversation depends on your personality, how much you relate to the person and how shy you are
