Updates to the award system?

I previously posted this on a diffrent thread just as it ded out so i don't believe anyone read it, so i've decided to post it here, and thats why if anything seems out of place with what i'm saying it's in conjunction with the previous thread.

I believe theyre needs to be a greater variety of awards . Otherwise everyone is going to be displaying the same awards just at a diffrent stage ( for instance someone shows an award of 2,500 posts and someone else of 250). Awards nablished and once they are they should be introduced as prizes. I don't know if youve ever eard of this site but i used to moderate i site called Habboremix which no longer runs ATM. But they had a badge system where if you earned a badge it would feel special as they were diffrent for diffrent competitions ect.

For instance you could have one for winning the remix lottery as so few people would have that.
Another idea would be event wise such as. Any user who is logged in at midnighton new years eve would win the new years eve award and so on.

while to implement, but once fully up and running it would be great.
It's also alot more visual than reputation so it may intice newer users to compete i more competitions.

At the moment the award system is under used and under utilised, i believe this would give it the boost to be succsesful around the forum.

Wat are your thoughts?

So like Habbo, if you logged in Christmas in 2006, you got the Christmas badge, and same for habbo birthday last year.

Yes this is quite right and we have always planned to expand the awards system depending on the amount of users who liked the new system, we've given out nearly a thousand awards so I'm guessing people do like it therefore it is probably time for us to start introducing new awards. There will be a lot of awards around for the Summer Spectacular and we'll be introducing more awards over the next two months too :)

Precisely Myke, what people can't see is that we do still get 20ish requests a day, it's not dying but we would like some new awards :D

Habbo have an award for everything and I personally liked it when awards were something amazing and 'wow' now they're just worthless. That's why I don't think there needs to be lots of them, there just needs to be more promotion of them imo. Atm, there's absolutely nothing that shows them off which is why I agree with the 'awards in postbit' thread. :)

I just believed if we started giving them out in competitions and making them more easily accessible, it would appeal to alot more users.

I disagree with this, a lot of people still enter competitions. The theory is just to give the badges we have out now for "big competitions" so they are rare and make it like Habbo used to be, "wow".

Noooo they aren't being opposed as such, just saying people don't want more mass-gained awards :P More awards are needed yes, but they should be more unique.

Should deffo have a "Logged in 30 days in a row" one or something like that, just to show that users are active on habbox. that'd be really cool. idk if they can monitor that on the forum though.

it would be cool if you could have 1 badge on display in your post bit area, giving you the choice to chose the badge with a badge chooser of all the awards you have collected on here.
