Hey,

If I have a car that is uninsured but is taxed and MOT'd - can I insure it using a company like Provisional Marmalade just for a month or so to get some extra practice in with my dad? Or does there have to be a policy on it in my dads name aswell, seperate to the provisional policy?

Thanks!

I thought you just turned 15? lol?

Just found this in the F.A.Q:
Can this policy be the only insurance for the car?

No, this policy is designed to cover a car that belongs to someone else whilst you are driving so the car must remain insured by the main owner for other risks.

If you're driving, then it should be fine. I think it's just referring to if someone goes out in the car without you.

If your only looking to get yourself insured on your own car or a different car for 1 month or so and its below insurance group 20E (new system) try collingwood (youll have to google it)

I got insurance with these for £96.50 for 28 days as a learner on a 10 plate mazda 2 1.3. However the policy will only cover yourself and not any additional drivers.
