People have been trying to 'scam' copyrighted items in the web market for quite some time now, for example they try to sell free copyrighted scripts (obviously not everyone knows this) its annoying because its happened numerous of times. Nothing seems to get said to the user by moderators. At least an infraction might stop them from doing it in the near future.

Definitely agree with this, especially if it is free in the first place.

Hey, there's no reason why this shouldn't be getting dealt with, should you see it happen simply PM one of the tech moderators or Super Moderators with evidence and the user should be dealt with for inappropriate content.

Probably have to agree with you on this one. This should be sorted under the current A5 rule which is the following:

A5. Do not use this forum for any illegal practices, including but not limited to:

Being involved in hacking or encouraging hacking.
Breaking of the Habbo Way or encouraging T&C violation.
Posting warez or other illegal downloads.

Bold words is handy when you want to bring a point across also. :P

No Matt, we have text formatting tools on the forum for no reason whatsoever...

Can I just say that in situations that this occurs users should not post in the threads accusing the member instead they should PM a Super Moderator or one of the tech forum moderators with their evidence and the thread will be removed and the users dealt with.

By posting in the thread you are breaking a rule yourself, which we should be avoiding.

Bold words also give emphasis when putting a point across.

So what's the deal? How will it be dealt with exactly?

Not that I'm the expert or anything, but a couple of these threads have popped up this morning. I think the best way to deal with them in to treat them as either illegal activity and/or inappropriate content. In both cases, the threads were removed with the OP being contacted with sufficient evidence to warrant action being taken.

I agree, something should be done about this... It's terrible.

Quite right davey, but we can only act on this if people tell us.

Surely if someone posts in a thread explaining that the product has been released for free, a moderator would look into it. Unless the moderation them don't monitor the technology forums?

Yes of course Richie but obviously the quickest way to go about it is to alert a moderator, this way there's less of a chance people will fall for it and obviously we don't want arguments in the threads.

Selling currency and membership pins in Runescape section is 'unofficially' allowed and that breaks Terms and Conditions. I wasn't allowed to post a botting progress report but they can sell that kind of stuff.
