Got mine today; has anyone else got a 'metal thing' (don't know what it's called or looks like) across the top of their jaw? None of my mates have it, and it's limiting my speaking and eating skills |:

a retainer? but thats plastic..
dont worry, within a week or 2 you will get used to the brace and start speaking normal.

Nope. Not a retainer, just had them in today :P
And joy. I managed to eat some soup today.. LOL

Yeah that looks like your diet for the next week. Soft foods.

Dunno what you mean, and tbh, I don't know what it is. Can't see it in the mirror, so can only use my tongue to, guess, what it is really haha

Nahh. Mine have normal braces (stick on then wire on front) then a bracket on top jaw

Thick line is gum/teeth
Thin is what appears to be the 'structure' :P
