Hey,
I asked this before but didn't get really any helpfull replys, I need a program that will allow me to read my emails on my computer rather than a browser. I need the program to have instant alert (if someone emails me it auto pops up on screen) I have thunderbird atm but it kinda sucks because I have to keep opening the program etc.
Any other sugggestions?
Oh and its my own email ex. @stancefm.com

I use Apple Mail on the Mac.
I use and have used Thunderbird on the PC for a long time now. You get instant notifications if your email provider supports something called IMAP.

I use outlook 2007. Just set it to send/receive every minute to receive mail pretty much instantly. You can have it running in the background too.

Have you done what this guy says - I know I use the method when presenting - e.g. I have my radio request email account set to automatically check for new emails every 1 minute - it should do a pop-up or I'm sure theres a setting to do one, and should also make a sound.
I prefer Outlook - I've used Thunderbird but had problems setting it up in the past - yet it would set up fine in outlook - Thunderbird is free of course though.

Here's a bit of an alternative solution if you want to keep using Thunderbird:
Download and install Growl, which is basically an alert system for Windows or Mac, and once done it can be configured to work with Thunderbird out of the box for new mail etc.

I love growl, use it with everything.

I use growl for my notifications too, although I thought it was limited to OS X!
