Does anyone have a software suite they like to use to code websites, i use programmers notepad but it doesn't offer the markup knowledge and code cleanup i'd prefer to have. Dreamweaver works well but its bloated for the cause.

What he said, mines frustrating me at the moment though, It's constantly asking me to update and when I do it still continues to do so!

I used N++ on Windows and Coda is what I use on the Mac. Just wish it had project search.

Use an IDE.

Personally I use Netbeans but I find it a little bloated. I used to use PHPDesigner but it was bloated as well. N++ should suffice though.

Unfortunately there is no OS X version. The best software I've found for OS X is either NetBeans and Coda. NetBeans is good but FTP sync sometimes dies for me, and coda doesn't have project search which isn't very good for me!

Cyberduck & TextWrangler is all you need on Mac and both are free.

Cyberduck = Free FTP with file editing and re-upload on modifications (even while editing program is open).

TextWrangler = Free plain text editor with syntax and keyword/function highlighting for a bucket load of languages & the rest of the usual features.

So Cmd+S = save file in TW, which is then auto-uploaded and overwritten using cyberduck.

I can't tell if he's asking about OS X or Windows :P I think Zend Studio works on OS X....

I always used Coda on OS X... <3

Coda/Textmate/Smultron on Mac, phpDesigner (one of the things I've actually got a license for my self lol) and Notepad++ on Windows.

Tried Zend Studio, bloody hated it.

Coffeecup Editor isnt bad.

It's not horrible, no, but I think it's becoming a little dated by now :P
