Which do you like the most?
The Sims (No site anymore)
The Sims 2 (http://www.thesims2.ea.com)
The Sims 3 (http://www.thesims3.ea.com)
Personally I like sims 2 more, I did like sims 3 more until I realised it's missing something.. decent and realistic expansion packs like pets, university etc, the sims 2 really excelled when it came to expansion packs as did the sims but the graphics and features aren't as good, I mean have you seen the expansion packs for sims 3? they're doing a medieval one, how sad.. (i think so anyway). So ye, sims 2 all the way!

Definitely The Sims 2 (Pets and IKEA Stuff woo) in terms of how good the expansion packs were, the graphics also stand up well too. I've tried 3 and it was amazingly slow, but once it gets decent expansion packs and the absolute must of in-game animals, it might be worth another play.

When did Sherlock Holmes walk in?!
I loved sims 2, I brought it insted of 3 when 3 came out as I didn't have enough money and I don't regret it.
'The Sims: Bustin' Out' on the Gamecube.
The Sims 2 for gameplay reasons, but we can't really vote atm seeing as TS3 has only had (Is it 2 or 3) expansion packs and 1 or 2 stuff packs, whereas Sims 2 had a HELLA lot more, but judging off both base games I perfer TS3.

Basing this purely on Sims 2 and Sims 3 without Expansion packs, then I'd go for The Sims 3, as it's far more innovative than The Sims 2, as it covers the basics as well as gets updated whenever an EP is released, which you did not get with The Sims 2. Cars, bicycles, open map, open neighbourhood. The only thing The Sims 3 lacks is proper World Editing tools, as it's still a bit sketchy. The Sims 2 was good, but The Sims 3 opens up a new level of play, especially when patches keep the game updated rather than outdated the moment an EP/SP is released.

Sims 2 is the best , I think !
AND everybody is forgetting all the updates that are to come yet...
In every EP so far, there has been an update for the base game too, and that brings new activities etc without the EP...
If all these build then just The Sims 3 base game will be great x
I play Sims 3 because I love the story progression, the only reason. I play with Twallan's story progression modification as well so I can have legacy families and eventually towns. ;)

I've never actually tried Twallans story mod thing, I liked story pro. just the way it was, but I did heavily mod my game when I played, like, I had hundreds of hairstyles, god knows how much clothing, a lot of gameplay mods (Awesomemod, magic-mod, witch mod etc...) and litreally like 700 pieces of furniture, not to mention all the carpets and wallpapers and everything lol.

Sims 2 is the best, no question.
I was excited about having sims 3 but it was complete rubbish. You couldn't go in any rooms, you had to wait outside. I used to love Sims 1 when i bought it but then I bought Sims 2 and realised Sims 1 wasn't actually that good.

I never downloaded a lot of them, no custom content; just mods etc. I used to play like, poor people and somehow get them to a mansion, was pretty fun.
Why is there not an option to say "Like them all" ... -.- DB!

I found that Makin' Magic, whilst fun, took a lot of realistic feeling out of the game which, for me, is part of what makes the game so great
