I've subscribed to Spotify premium, now the only time I buy music is if it isn't on Spotify (so it's generally fairly unknown). Spotify is actually amazing now, I just leave it running in the background on my Android phone and press play on the widget to start my playlist off from where I left it before, and if I want to add music to the playlist, I just drag it to it on my PC and it automatically updates and sync the music over to my phone. And the ability to search for music and stream it wherever there is 3G or WiFi is really handy too.

Well worth the £10 a month IMO.

Why do people even bother with YouTube downloads? The quality is usually rubbish! :P

thats what i think too, its like listening to a song through a telephone.

i use torrents, i only want full albums, and downloading one song at a time is a pain.

I use blogspots. I only buy if the band are a smaller band, or they've captured my eye one way or another.

Hmm all of them really. I'll buy songs on youtube if they are small artists or are exceptional. I tend to 'obtain' music of older, larger bands (crap justification I know). And sometimes I just stick on spotify or youtube if I only like one song from an album.

I barely listen to music nowadays, i prefer a nice hum from the xbox n pc. If anything its the same few songs what my mate did.

I download occasionaly but if I really like a band I will go out there and buy there album so most of my music these days is from CDs.

People tell me that artists get enough money via merchandise and gigs/events - which may be true but if everyone stopped buying their music they'd probably decide to give up - i mean its there job - i work in a suppermarket if everyone stopped buying stuff from that supermarket we'd close.

I've never been into digital stuff much - as in i'd rather own a physical copy of a CD - its like DVDs - if theres a really good film usually I have to have the special edition with all the stuff on.

However because I run an online radio station i'm signed up to a pretty decent and cheap music subscription service that gives me new 20 uk and 20 us tracks a week.

Yeah a torrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol - developed by BitTorrent I believe - but others use it e.g. theres loads of torrent programs out there. I use Bitcomet but rarley use it these days for music.

I use Grooveshark on the PC, youtube for music videos, and if i want to download tracks... lets just say that if I told you how I'd have to shoot you into Orbit.
