It's a tablet device, like the iPad is, but it's far better simply because it runs Android and can do SO. MUCH. MORE.

Yeah i was saying this yesterday. Speaking to a samsung rep and apparently the networks are all fighting over it. It's similar to the iPad but better by the sounds of it! I mean android!? And voda are the only one's taking it on officially yet.

This would be number one on my Christmas list if I didn't have my Nexus One.

I've only used one in my local Futureshop although I got quite a thrill out of it. Having said that, though, I'm 99.9% more likely to buy and adore an Android tablet over an iPad, if I were in the market for one.

I do quite like the look of it. I will wait and see the launch and what not before deciding If I want one, although I do want to own some sort of tablet soon whether it runs Android or Windows.

It says it comes with Swype... Is Swype officially out all of a sudden or have the guys at Swype let Samsung use it as they want a piece of the Android Tablet pie? It looks pretty nifty, but I have no use for one. You only need one Android device, not an Android smartphone and a tablet that does the same thing but on a bigger screen, it would be a waste of monies. One would imagine the smartphone would be of more use than a tablet in practicality, but of course some people do get tablets anyway if they have a real use for them.

Swype is being shipped on Samsung devices, and is in limited BETA for other Android users (you can usually find a download for it on XDA-Developers somewhere for your screen size), I use it on my HTC Desire :P

swype looks dead difficult! i'd rather stick to just typing :o

looks like a nice device... hmm... if they really want to do well then I think they'll have to retail it a bit cheaper than the iPad, thats most peoples reason why they dont have one.

It's really easy once you get used to it (which you do very quickly) and then you end up preferring it to normal typing.

I was a Swype user for months but I ended up reverting back to the Stock Froyo keyboard in the end because 1. My Nexus One's larger screen accommodated for the keyboard better than it's G1 older brother, and 2. I can genuinely type faster with two hands on the Stock as opposed to Swype--Swype was just more fun to use :P

Ah so it's really just Swype using Samsung as a company to BETA test it, compared to us lot who make it through the limited BETA? I think that makes sense at least :S Either way, a good choice for the tablet as Swype is pretty useful for those who can adjust to things easily.

EDIT: And I mean VERY easily - My nan who has bad eye sight, doesn't drive and can't use a computer managed to understand Swype, and try it out for a short period, writing out my name :P Which is very impressive!

It manages to get about 3/4ths of what I threw at it, although I think http://www.blindtype.com/ is really going to steal the stage here :P

It looks really nice and the fact it runs Android rather than iOS is a big selling point.

I don't think I'd buy one though, I have no use for it. Nice video though :)
