HIYA basically i've had 8 bouts of tonsillitus in the last year, so they're gonna take my tonsils out, (YAY FUN).

was just wondering if anyone has had theirs out recently / how much it hurt etc. i know it's gonna be complete agony, but i don't know anyone irl who has had theirs' out like within the last 5 years, they all had theirs done when they were baba's.

+rep all that can help.

This is from google btw, just helping you find some stuff that may help :D

Best advice I can give, drink water constantly. When my throat would dry out is when I had the most pain. Drinking a little water then trying to swallow food worked better for me.
One piece of advice I can give you is eat as much soft food as you can ( mashed potatoes, mac and cheese pudding ect...) It helps in the healing process and will not make you bleed.

I use to suffer from tonsillitus alot when I was a kid.

I don't think it will hurt that much but, I'm sure they will give you some painkillers/morphine. If not been asleep when's it done and you get to eat alot of ice cream ;}

When I had mine out I had to eat soft stuff. I ate bowl upon bowl of microwavable mash potato. Good stuff.
And yeah, sorry to say, it hurts. :( I used to get tonsillitus like 9 times a year too. ;(

it makes your throat sore for a few weeks but that's it (a friend had it done)
