Has been announced on the forums somewhere, but I can only go on dutch ones :S
Its from the 3rd to the 6th of September. Shame my members runs out the day before lol.

One bad thing about this is nothing is selling in g/e skill wise, herbs, pots, ess which is really annoying because it looks like I wont be able to get 70 rc and herblore...

Anyways what you planning on doing on xp weekend?
I will probs do mage in f2p.

It's not referred to as double XP weekend, it's referred to as BONUS xp weekend, people just started mistakingly calling it double xp weekend even though its not

if you work it out the average is 1.7 or something not 2.0

Also summoning has a 10% cap

Oh I didnt know that any reason on why?

Thomas

maybe you couldn't because it would effect the value of dragon bones so much?

scottish

Because you'd get stupidly high XP when the boosts on prayer are already high enough

With each d bone on a gilded altar with bonus xp you'd get 680xp per bone

thats just stupid

252 or 272 or whatever you get atm is fine

Guilded altars don't provide double exp on double exp weekend, just saying.

scottish
25-08-2010, 12:33 PM
Bonus xp, not double XP

neither does ecto nor does brawlers

the only way to use bonus xp on prayer is burying the bones which wouldn't come near the XP gained on the ecto/altars = pointless

[Jay]

I dont think it would be the cost of d bones otherwise they would of done herblore as well,
Also scott that would be the same for construction...

I don't think they allow altars to be effected because people would just get so much xp. Then there would be loads of complaints from high levels saying they worked so hard on training prayer and now people can get from like 90 to 99 in a day (or w/e). Just like people complained about summoning and now that is capped.

Yes but like you said its the around the same xp as you would gain for using bones on altars etc... so theres no real point...

Indeed, but saying you CANT do it means theres no possible method, when there is, just it's a waste of time and a waste of the bonus XP weekend :P

Im planning to burn magic logs for the first 3 hours, after a magic tree/palm tree run to gather all the bonus xp. Should get 700xp + per mage log burned, best option really since im already 92 herblore & you just cant get the supplies needed (merch).

I think i'll be training abit of mage, range and agility by using the Circus d&d (it allows the bonus xp from performing certain moves there like backflip for agility)

Then go and train abit of herblore and then possibly put some in training attack/defencw

Wow lol how long do you think bonus xp lasts? It's not all weekend, just a few hours iirc but since it decreases as you train your probably best of trying to do all one skill unless you set it up so that you can waste as little time possible when changing skills.

Im sure after 10 hours it decreased to 1.1 and stayed on that for full weekend

Well youve got a point there, plus when the 10 hours is up ur left with only 1.1x the xp rate, which is what summoning is stuck at throughout, so no point training that

This other dude Domino Dice was winnin' for ages but I think he just gave up 'cos there was no real competition then as soon as I started fletchin' he started aswel and when I thought I was winnin' he'd gained like another 500k xp so I'm hoping he continues to fletch so it's a bit more of a competition!

Even if it does just turn out to be a waste of time you still leave with all that XP. ;)
