GCE Advanced Level
GCE Advanced Level: Double Award
GCE Advanced Subsidiary (first award 2001)
GCE Advanced Subsidiary: Double Award

What one is A/S level.

Also this is requiring me to enter my GCSEs too. I entered them but I also did a Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Certificate in Media. Someone told me this gets me extra UCAS points. Anyone confirm/deny?

AS is Advanced Subsidiary (first award 2001) I think, well thats what I put anyway.

Advanced Level is a full A level.

Btw if you're going through UCAS, make sure you have a bottle of vodka or something equally as strong to hand.

If your unsure, you could probably ask someone at your college

The Media thing won't get you any extra UCAS points because it's a Level 2 qualification, not Level 3.

I was supposed to do this during my tutor sessions at college but I never got round to filling in the information and stuff, i've spent ages doing my personal statement and that's still rubbish!

I think mine has to be done by them, but they got us to start them like really early but im glad because I didn't have a clue what to write and it was rubbish so my tutor has been helping me which I suppose is useful!

Oli's right, it's Advanced Subsidiary (first award 2001). that's what I put too. I think the 'first award 2001' means it was first awarded in 2001 and its still going in 2010 :P

Is there no other option for AS? I thought the A levels for 2001 had finished last year :S

Either way, you have until january 15th-ish to apply, or mid October for medical and Oxbridge students. Good luck all!
