I was thinking of shaving the sides and just having a mohawk, any other suggestions lol

Go to a hairdresser/barber who has a reputation as being a very good cutter of hair and ask their advice first. That's what I would do.

no thank you please don't do that. I like the indie look on guys like short back and sides? but i don't know if that would suite you depends on what type of person you are really, can't make a judgement just off the top of my head but imo no one should be legally allowed to have a mohawk :P

Anyway just spend a bit of time on google and create a picture in your head of what you want it like, go to a good barbers and tell them exactly how you want it.

Have like short spiekd top with a brushed across fringer, and short sides and back.

If I were you, take on what others have said about looking at quite a few images and getting a decent idea into your head, and then take a couple of photos to help you explain your ideal hairstyle to a hairdresser instead of a barbers. Depending on how long you want it, from past experience it is much better to go to a salon than a barber :)
