Depends where you are in the world but any bird welfare organisation. Is the bird injured??? If not it maybe okay to release.

If you do decide to eat it make sure you cook it thoroughly to avoid picking up anything it may of had. Also add a little pepper while it is in the oven for seasoning, yum. Just joking lol I would feed it some bread/nuts and make sure it has access to some water. Then in the morning if it looks well you should just let it fly away.

I saved a pidgeon once, we came home in the car and it was hopping around by the gates to the back garden, so I went and got a cardboard box and got it in there - put some water in something (forget what, saucer of some type) and gave it some bread crumbs and nuts. Anyway I closed the lid over for nightime (keep the cats away) and checked now and again, it was just sitting there relaxed and chilled out - in the morning woke up to find that the lid was all lifted up so it must of regained enough strength to fly out and fly away.

RSPB can be incredibly stupid though. If working with birds of prey, they would sooner put them down than put the effort into saving them or rehabilitate them, so never let the RSPB near any birds unless they're incredibly rare or not so badly injured. It would be easier to know what to do if we knew what was wrong though :P

Same, in the fact that we saved a pigeon once. Was watching my cat in the garden, and then he suddenly attacked a pigeon out of no where. Managed to shoo him away and the pigeon's wing was damaged and it was bleeding underneath it. We called the local vets and got the pigeon in a cage and took him there, dno what they did with it though.
