Emirates launch their first A380 service to a regional airport in Manchester, by replacing a 777 with the A380 on one of their twice daily Manchester-Dubai flights, tomorrow making it one of only 6 European airports to accept the plane. I'm just interested in seeing if anybody's been on one or even seen one before...

Personally i've never seen one and i think it'll be quite interesting to see (My next door neighbours are going on the inaugral flight to Dubai in first class!)

It is gigantic, you can't really scale the size of it when it is in the sky but when it is on the ground my god it is something to see! Hopefully one day I get to fly on it. :P

My uncle lives under the flight path to Heathrow, so we saw one of these beasts flying a couple of months ago. Absolutely huge and (we found) surprisingly quiet too.

It just doesn't look like it should lift off the ground. Such a shame that aircrafts are going back in time with Concorde retiring.. now that was simply the pinnacle of man's achievement. Still, the A380 is a great plane.

Saw it fly over my house a few days ago, apparently it will be doing everyday or something at around 12:20am which is obviously about the time I saw it. It was gliding really slow, must of been waiting for a slot to land, I got a video of it but it looks crap on my phone.

Aye, it lands daily at 12:25pm and takes off at 14:10pm. However, todays has been delayed by like 4 hours because it had a hard landing in the wind after having to do a touch and go so theyre checking it over

Yeah, the flights still not departed. Apparently it's being checked over by a maintenance team atm

Yeah. Apparently one of the gears has been quite badly damaged so they're urgently trying to source parts

wooo might be going on it next month. Possibly going India next month and all tickets from Manchester to where I need to go, go through Dubai on A380 (a).
