I fail to see how if she is alive, that she won't realise she was stolen.. She's all over the world, and her trait in her eye will never change. She can't be kept off the Internet forever..

At her age she'd have been too developed to ever fit into a new family and forget her old one. I'm no child smuggler myself but if I was I'd be clever enough to realise that you have to get them farrrrr younger than Maddie was if it's to sell them on to adoptive parents. Also anyone that rich would know the story and would either have to get rid of her again or shut her away from all existence forever, neither of which are likely options for people desperate to be parents

If she really was sold to a wealthy couple, with the eye defect they probably realized who it was and possibly had her killed - they wouldn't want to be nabbed for child smuggling because they would eventually get caught.

I'm going to sound reallllyyyy harsh here but I think all this is a lost cause.

Maddie has been missing for three years now and at the age she is, will have changed in physical appearance dramatically IMO and I don't think she would recognise her own parents even if they recognised her.

That would be a good way for her to be found, but I'm with Recursion. This doesn't really change anything. It's like writing a story about someone who's gone missing and changing the plot. They're still missing, especially when no information about location and people have come up. The police already have the idea she was snatched, so there's nothing new to add :/

I do hope she is still alive, the chances are she was taken by a gypsy family or something along those lines - and often they 'adopt' the child. Hopefully one day she'll be found alive and well.
