What happened to Habbo?

Hey,
I last used Habbo in 2008 when the hotels weren't merged, but I do remember there were rumours back then of it happening.

What has exactly happened in the last couple of years? Who runs the merged English hotel? Did Sulake do it to cut costs? How did it work (usernames, furni, roomnames etc)?

I logged in earlier and only 5000 people were online? Isn't that a bit low for 4 merged hotels?

So totally confused by Habbo now!

Yep, it saves Sulake money and on top of that, they're still getting thousands from us.

Different time zones - its like 9am in Central America at the moment.

Habbo UK had 9k users at once, I don't understand how habbo merge only has 5k, usa night time or not.
