I don't think its anything SUPER to be worried about but perhaps you should go to the doctors for a piece of mind. Have you cleaned it recently? A quick google search revealed that it not being clean can be the most common cause of belly button soreness. Other causes can be things like Cysts etc.. Personally I would take a quick trip to the doctors and have it checked out.

Good luck!

These pains are often through pregnancy but I suppose you're not.

But if I was you, I'd get it checked out as soon as possible! If you've been experiencing it for 5 weeks, as you say, then you will most likely need urgent medical assistance!

Experiencing sudden and intense belly button pain requires urgent and immediate medical attention as it is a clear indicator of appendicitis. The belly button or the navel is located at the center of the tummy, and it is an area that does not generally experience discomfort and pain. Appendicitis is a serious condition that indicates the inflammation of the appendix, and it requires removal of the appendix by surgery. Delay of the surgery adds up to the amount and the intensity of the pain, and therefore belly button pain must not be ignored at any cost.

Just be brave and get it checked out. Hey, my post might be a load of garbage, but that's what it could be.

LOL if I went to my doctor because my belly button hurt I'd be laughed out of the room. Just make sure you're cleaning inside it properly and always rinsing all the soap out of it and you should see some improvement, otherwise you're pregnant :P
