Would it be possible for anyone to start a world war?

Like, say I wanted to start a world war (Not that I do) Would it be possible to, or do you think it takes other factors in the mixture to causes such a war?

There is a way in the British nuclear system to get to that stage, Trident operated (and as far as I am aware still does) in the general capacity - meaning that generals have the right of fire as a way of ensuring MAD (mutually assured destruction) against the enemy if the government of the United Kingdom and Monarchy were wiped out in a nuclear holocaust. Whether this is still the case i'm not sure, I do think it is though as I remember reading something on it last year. So yeah, make your way up to commander of a Trident nuclear submarine and you could very well start World War III.
