stick on some rocking tunes, and take the laptop onto my bed so I'm not distracted by people talking to me - thats homework specific though. :) At school I don't know really, I'm pretty focused there anyway.
As a general rule I put on some piano music that helps me relax, and I sit in my dining room which is the quietest area of my house, and just get stuck in to whatever needs doing!

I have a short attention span naturally, but I find that allowing myself to be distracted for a short amount of time every so often helps me to improve my concentration - or at least concentrate for a little longer.

At school it tends to help me concentrate if the teacher is interesting and not just writing stuff on the board for us to copy out. But when I'm not being distracted by people sitting around me talking to me, I'm really focused in lessons.

I used to take pills, not prescription, but with minerals and herbs etc. (like homeopathic stuff) which help improve attention span. They worked, but they kept me up until like 5am everyday and I began to feel exhausted, so I don't take them anymore.
Now I listen to music a lot more than I used to, while I'm working, and during breaks, it clears my mind. I also go for a drive to clear me mind as well :P.

I sit down and listen to a bit of Taylor Swift or a bit of mild rock. in school .. well I just try and sneak out my I-Pod
If it's something boring, then nothing will improve my concentration. If its some sort of presentation then I'll lose concentration after about 20 mins and then start thinking about other stuff :P

Same really. If I understand it I'll do it - if it seems difficult I'll just drift in and out.
I do drink a lot of water though which helps.
