Union delegates have backed joint industrial action if "attacks" on jobs, pensions and public services go ahead.

The TUC's annual gathering backed a motion which included calls to build "a broad solidarity alliance of unions and communities under threat".

TUC chief Brendan Barber warned that big cuts would make Britain a "dark, brutish and more frightening place".

Looks like we could be in for an interesting time with all these militant unions not accepting any cuts at all. Some of the nonsense they're coming out with is unbelievable, Bob Crow wants civil disobedience and some have said it's going to be worse than the cuts under Thatcher. They can't seem to accept that spending has to be cut and therefore some jobs must go.

Prepare for lots of striking after the Autumn...

Oh and I also feel it's got to the point where I need to put this; please don't post bother bringing the EU or anything else trivial and somewhat irrelevant up.

a lot of public sector workers i think will not be v happy with this because they are trying to keep their heads down. in my area literally thousands of jobs are going from the council. no doubt this will have a knock-on effect on private business too. of course it will barely scratch the south.

Why should British schools be cut, the public sector cut, the military downgraded and cut + many other important things while the Conservatives have increased our foreign aid & EU contributions? as a Conservative you (should) be fuming, not to mention anyone with an ounce of common sense and decency who puts the people of this country first and foremost when having to make hard decisions.

So why the hell shouldn't people protest about their jobs being lost while our government continues to waste money.

Inseriousity.

Hmm I think if these unions want support from the ordinary person, the scaremongering that they do is the wrong tactic. All they talk about is strikes but no-one listens anymore. I imagine if people got behind these strikes, they'd be more successful and less of a problem but because of the way they do it, it doesn't work out like that!
