Are you afraid of flying?

I've always been fascinated with planes and I used to be really into Flight Simulator several years ago. I'd go as far as to say that I've even considered being a pilot a future career I might pursue.

However I do have to say thinking about plane crashes (Curtsy of the TV show Mayday), terrorism and especially what happened in 9/11 does scare me--despite how little the chances of such things occurring.

I'v only flown once and I was ok. If I went in a plane again I would probably be a little nervous - but that's about it :)

Although all the incidents I see and terrorism, I believe that if it happens it happens you cannot be scared of it because if it's your time to go it's your time to go! In regards to pursuing a career in aviation, being a student pilot myself, I believe it is an excellent idea! I remember the first time I took the controls to lift her off the runway, such an amazing feeling to be leaving everything on the ground and taking this small aircraft into the air - to this day I still have the 'Wow' feeling!

No, I'm not afraid, and I was the same with David. I have been fascinated with flying, and yes I've thought about becoming a pilot too, lalalala

In all honesty I wish it did scare me, flying is so mind numbingly boring it would make things a little more interesting. Couldn't care less about flying tbh - more likely to die on the way to the airport than on the plane and all that jazz.

Nope, the only bit I tense up in in is where the plane reaches the correct altitude and it feels like its falling momentarily.

No not scared of flying but the popped ears is a pain in the backside :(
I agree with eddie anyways, if it happens, it happens, you're not going to be able to do anything about it if some nutter wants to hijack a plane or a pilot loses control. I'll stick my head between my legs and kiss my arse goodbye! :D

D: I clicked im not scared by an accident. I am pretty scared because I watch all those crashing investigation things. My mum and dad paid for mine and my sisters holiday to spain and I pulled out because I didn't want to fly so I wriggled my way out of it and ended up going camping with the cadets in the poring rain.. it was good tho. BUT anyway yeah I'm scared.

I don't have a fear of flying but I have a fear of crashing or being bombed, just the same on trains.

I'm Not over confident in flying Because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. But I wouldn't be scared to fly if I had too. I let my dad fly i plane i was in. so it will be fine if i do ;)

hundreds, if not thousands, of flights are carried out every day, and it's very rare for you to hear anything going wrong. Or at least something going wrong which results in death.

I'm like 50/50

I used to be really scared, and still get shaky when boarding and stuff. But once im taking off and in the air, its fine. I love landing :}

After 54 flights abroad, I'd hope I'm not scared! :P

I really do enjoy flying and I'd love to be a pilot if I wasn't colour blind. There's just something about the whole experience that makes you feel so happy and free. Maybe the sensation comes from floating above the Atlantic at 30,000 feet in a metal can... :)

Planes are simply the pinnacle of man's engineering.

Never been flying,
but that's cause I'm too scared, cause my family watches a little too many flight movies that end up with dead people. So yeah... I can't even control my fear in sleep, either they keep buying loads of tickets, or they end up crashing into the Pacific Ocean o_O

I don't class myself as scared. But I just don't want to fly, or go abroad.

I love flying, especially landing :P

I don't get scared easily and because I live in a city already, I don't get scared about terrorism because I just think of it this way: I have to get on with my life, which means using the tube and buses. I can't think "oh, I'm not gonna get on the tube or a bus because it might get bombed." - If I thought that way, I wouldn't be able to get anywhere or just continue day-to-day life.

Never had a problem with flying, never got shaky, never got ill, just enjoyed it.

I hate it! I have a fit when I go on holiday with my family, I'd rather just stay in England tbh.

Flying for me is great! I love flying :D

I'm even doing a glider's course.. (yes an aircraft with a large wingspan with no engines!!)
So yes, I love flying with or without an engine! :P
