Hello,

Thank you for your email.

Recently you purchased coins from a third party website for a discount. Third party sites are not authorized to sell our Habbo coins. You received the goods in the form of Habbo Exchange furni in the Hotel. The reason that site offers the discounted price is because they are using stolen credit cards to purchase Habbo Coins from our website and then reselling them to you. They never have any intention of paying for the coins they purchase, only making a profit. When the real credit card holder sees these charges, they dispute them with their bank. The funds are refunded to the rightful card holders and Habbo.com is never receives payment for these transactions.

In order to have the ban removed from your Habbo account you will need to remit the amount of the transactions to us. The funds must be paid via Money Order, in US funds. The money order should be made out to Sulake.

The total amount needed to remove the ban on your account is:
$610

The Money Order should be sent to:
Sulake Inc
225 Santa Monica Blvd
4th Floor
Santa Monica, CA 90401
ATTN: Credit Department

To ensure proper handling, please include both the Habbo name and the words "PAY OFF" -- either on the Money Order or on an attached piece of paper. If this information is not included the funds will not be applied properly and the ban will not be removed. Once the payment has been received the ban will be removed. If you wish to receive an email notification when this occurs please include that with your payment.

Please note that on our Credits page at www.Habbo.com/Credits (http://www.habbo.com/Credits) it states: "All legitimate ways to buy Habbo coins are to the left. Buying them elsewhere could get you ripped off and MAY get you banned."

Thank you,
Habbo Hotel Credit Department

Previous email:

* Habbo name - Darkenemy
* Date of Birth - *REMOVED*
* Email address registered to your Habbo - *REMOVED*
* Name of your ISP - Eircom
* Details of credits purchased - None for a very long time I gain furniture off friends donating
* If you purchased credits by phone, include your phone number - None
* A brief description as to why you are contacting us.

Darkenemy got permanently banned today for 'buying furniture from a 3rd party website'. I have worked 4 years on habbo playing habbo games, winning prizes off fansites & donations, in the process I'm appalled & quite frankly annoyed, if I have said anything on the client that may indicate I bought habbo furniture illegally, I can assure you it was either interpreted wrong or it was a joke.

You sure it's OFFICIALLY off them?

Yeah, I emailed them so there's no possible way someone could change it, unless they hacked sulakes email.

Ignore the question I asked. :P Just checked the headers and yeah it's off them. Pretty stupid they would expect a teen to pay $610 to get their account back imo.

Got your account banned? Offer the staff some cash and they'll happily unban your account!

Mathew

Lmao.. like they expect anyone to pay that much just to play Habbo. They need to open their eyes to the real world!

That's hilarious. Question their evidence though, they probably don't have anything solid. Money grabbing maniacs :@

They can ban when they like, for what they like it says in the TOS :(

who sent that email? As in what was the address. Seems a bit fake considering they said "make it payable to sulake". Surely it would be something like Sulake co limited or some crap.

but lol if its real

Well if credits were bought from a third party site and those offering them were using stolen credit cards then I see their point although people buying from a third party site might not realise that is what they were doing. I think that if this was the case then just leave it banned.

I checked the email headers and it was from something.habbogroup.com (can't remember).

If I was you I would contact trading standards (Or something like that).

They cannot prove you purchased any coins off a 3rd party website.

Although they can ban you for what ever reason they like, but since they are asking for money to unban you then I think trading standards may be interested :)

too much effort for a habbo account

@Rosie
People could easily buy habbo credits with a stolen credit card then trade it for other habbo furni then sulake bans the innocent members (me)

I would question their evidence and ask them to supply you with a copy of it. If they refuse or ask why you can just say 'I'm not about to write a cheque out for that amount of money without any proof'.

I would not send any money, since if it was fake, down goes £610, Just make a new account, make a donate room , set an event & hope for the best!

And who would spend £610 on getting a habbo account back? But it definatly could be a scam to get loads of money off people!

LOL like anyone would pay that much money.
are they stupid? LOL...

I like the fact that if people buy furniture, it is far more likely to be hacked furniture than it is stolen credit cards. And since Sulake refuse to give back/refund hacked furniture, they are actually being ignorant in my opinion. They are just trying to get twice the money for the same furniture that somebody has already paid for.

If it's from the habbogroup.com mail server, then it is indeed a real email o.O

Tbh tho, Wendy is credit support, not financial manager.. can she even make those demands?

You would think they would have better grammar wouldn't they?
Are you sure it's real. I am sure this email has been submitted before or something of the like, quite a long time ago! I severly doubt Habbo would ask for that amount of money. Also, who is Wendy, I was sure 0rca was player support. Wouldn't they use their Habbo name at least to show authenticity!?

You might think you're getting a bargain by buying Habbo Coins somewhere else, but in reality, you'll end up paying double — if not more!

If you buy from a third-party store, we WILL find out and ban your account. In order to get your account unbanned, you need to pay us back with the same amount of Credits. Why? Because that third-party seller actually bought those Credits with a stolen credit card, and we need to pay the owner back as well. So why do it at all if you can avoid it? There you go ;D Link: http://www.habbo.com/groups/ThinkFraud

I would definitely claim ignorance and go for a sympathetic stance saying I couldn't afford to pay :P

Get that $600 and use about $50 of it and you're back where you were, so simple!

just complain
were in debt and it costs that much to get like a cars repair, not a pixelated character which could easily be recreated, and the only thing you would do on that pixelated character is play games, go around rooms or spend more money getting stuff.

How exacty do Habbo even find out?

I sometimes get donations and help towards our fansite off some people. So because I do a trade without giving something in return could I get banned?

If they track the coins, what if you're in a trade room and get traded stolen credits?

Sulake have also had some of their most financially sucessful years so they aren't exactly losing out, especially with sales of habbo furni/coins up for sale on the black market.

Tom
15-09-2010, 06:53 AM
Sulake should charge you for Just the Amount of which 'You bought off a Stolen Credit Card.' But in this case, They've doubled it to pay the Invoices. Which shouldn't be allowed. As many people have said, You should ask them for Evidence of this Credit Purchase, And when it was e.t.c. And you should start making more sense of it.

Lol, so untrue. Scare tactics... pssh.

I doubt they have any evidence so I would just ask for the evidence. They are probably just guessing.

Haha, they guess about everything, I got a 1 year ban for being racist.

It's unbelievable Habbo still make money despite a stolen credit card being used and the user being expected to foot the bill.

sounds a bit dodgy to me - even with the 'correct' email headers. If you look here: http://www.sulake.com/contact/local_offices?navi=6.2

the office of sulake is in California, but not Santa Monica. And the add they gave you appears to be above an italian restaurant. hmm.

Hmmm, sounds very suspicious to me. I doubt habbo would demand money from you - especially $610 O.o

I would be very careful if you are going to send them any details or anything... why dont you send an e-mail to the e-mail address which is official and see if they know anything about this and obviously if they dont ... just ignore the e-mail.

If it is true then as people have been putting make sure you ask for proof otherwise i wouldnt pay.

If all fails, create a new habbo account :)

Wow this is the first i've heard of them asking for money to be sent, surely no one would actually send them the money for an account unban lol..

but how did they find out and track the wrongly bought credits to your account :S

This has got be be a fake email. How would habbo know if you had brought of a third party person they don't see what has happened on other sites. All they see is the trades and these could very well be donation. And if it is the real email they're going out of business or they have a very desperate worker in need of $610 which I highly doubt.

I would suggest emailing them denying everything and if worst comes to the worst sue :P
Or get another account.

From someone who appears to have played since July 2008, you know full well the risks associated with purchasing credits on a third party website below cost. You don't have any sort of argument so it's right you need to pay to have your account unbanned. :)

they can get an authority to seize the site involved, and find which habbo or email address that credits have been given to.

Why are people saying its fake? how would the scammer ban his actual account on habbo...

I didnt think of it like that, I was talking like his account wasnt banned - I suppose that your right.

Anyway I would still advise just quit or get and new account you cant do much else. I think you should just accept that maybe you did something and you should face the consequences. :D

Why would he pay $610 dollars, when he could do the same thing again and get way more than what he has already?

Let's say he spent ALL that $610, if he went to the right websites he could get 61 thrones.. whereas $610 dollars to habbo would get him like 5t lol

Yeh I am just using the more common prices for 'non-bulk' buys

If you have friends with stuff, obviously you could get more.

If Sulake want to rip any more money off kids they would be better charging $50 and a fair few people would pay,

Yes but if everyone did that, then Habbo wouldn't make money?
They'd be incredibly happy the Habbo has posted his misfortune on here as it discourages others from doing it too, imo.

Oh don't get me wrong - they would be happy with that.

On the other hand, not everybody does do it - we all know habbo make their money off new players nowadays - older players always will buy off the 'black market' (if they have any sense). Users don't make 200t off buying credits lol. Sulake went wrong with the habbo exchange.
