only done off the line in a business park which wasn't open yet in the golf, back when I had that. in the bora it's more just spontaneous motorway funz which just usually escalate from nowhere.

Why is that, does the bottom touch the floor if you go too fast? I thought the idea of lowering a car was to make it faster... Well to lower the centre of gravity so it handles better, more aerodynamic etc or did you just go too low purely for looks?

When you go as low as tdi has done on his car, you do it purely for looks, the car gains no performance-related advantage whatsoever from doing so. When fitting sports suspensio, the lowered and uprated proper performance-oriented stuff, that's to improve cornering; the looks of it being lowered are a bonus

I've lowered it for looks really, it sits about an inch off the floor if that. I don't rally about too much as after I was banned, I slowed down a bit. I need my licence for work, so can't risk it, hence why I got the bora instead of the 20vt mk4. It's just a pd130 with an egr delete and a remap, running at 175-185bhp but in all honesty I didn't build it to go fast. The remap was just a bonus, I suppose.
