I'd say the CV should be less than a page. The cover letter should be what wows them.
Having work experience and volunteering and stuff impresses employers.
Firstly for the cover letter i would write a little bit about yourself and what you can do, why you should be chosen for the job and why, what skills / grades you have and how they can help the company.
I would recommend that your main CV should be no more than 2 pages and should include the following:
Name, address etc
Personal profile - who you are and what you can do e.g i can use a computer, i am a good time keeper
Any grades you have achieved
Any work you've done - voluntary or paid
References
Name
Address
Number
E-mail
D.O.B (you don't need to include the year because of the age discrimination law but most people tend to anyway)
Achievements
Interests/Hobbie
Referee's (References)
You could include your GCSE grades but it really depends on what kinda job you're looking for. I recently got a job. 390 people applied, I got in, I didn't have my Junior Cert results on the CV but that's in a shop so it really depends on the job.
Best of luck <3

Deffo include that you work out and have a strict (ihopesobrah) diet. You can say that you respect yourself and other people/ anything else related to working out like confidence blah blah blah.
