we got asked to continue our sketchbook at home - 6 pages worth

our brief is called 'zoomorphic' and we basically have to use animal structures (skin, bones, etc) to make a building form

so i've done studies on fishes, snails & birds and from that i went on to look at shells (from the snail shell) and then went on to do the spiral staircase in that building in barcelona (can't remember what it's called)

so now i've come to a dead end & don't know what to do next and we have to do another 6 pages for thursday - HELP?!!!

Cool stuff. When I did art I literally stole all my inspiration from Behance Network. It's the best website for browsing other students and graduates works. Anyway that's just for future reference, here's some ideas I've managed to scrounge from the Architecture section:

You might be able to work this into your snail study:
Shell form:

Spiral form (probably the most workable along with shell):

Birds are really difficult for structures because you can't break them down into many geometric forms too easily. However if you run with the nest idea it becomes a lot easier:

Best I could get you for feathers was this the turbines on the side of this:

Turbines as structures by themselves might actually work if you run with the 'wing' concept. Just a thought.

Fish could be good but I can't think of much at the moment. Off the top of my head you could run with the idea of a skeletal structure stemming from the ribs. Something like:

Best aspect of fish to take away is their scales. Just get googling and you'll find some awesome examples of the patterns you can find where scales repeat.
Shoals of fish look just like structures when you look at still images as well. Structure would need to be curved though so the effect comes across clearly, still I definitely like the shoal idea.

I know you're not doing snakes but this was too good to pass up (you might be able to work the scales concept into your fish study):

Hope some of this stuff helps!
