I think you should reduce the size of the main body text and try not to overuse gradients so much. in terms of basic structure it's not that bad, you just need to work on the font sizes and such :).

Try reading places like www.smashingmagazine.com - they have tons of useful guides and examples for good design.

Yeah I know about the main body text but when I made it smaller it looked really stupid, thanks for the comment!
