Why is it that girls can wear earings at school but guys can't?
I'm sick of how us guys can't have our ears pierced. We can but we have to take out our studs or whatever when its a school day. I think its totally stupid.. Why does the school have to care about how we look. Where there to learn and work.
I think its silly and should be the same for boys and girls ... but they may think this because boys can be more rough, but this can also be said about some girls being rough.
Girls also wear big, loopy earrings which means they can be caught easily more than a stud that boys prefer to wear.
Overall boys & girls should be treated fairly within school.

so is the the techers being sexist or the students being stereotypes or both lol
either way it is bad, but if it just stereotypes you should just do whatever despite what people say i don't see why you should 'restrict' yourself

I am just going to do it don't you worry about that..
I'm probably moving schools soon anyways... Probably going to a public school instead of a private. Hopefully they won't be as strict with everything..

I have to say that you guys have it rough in the UK.
Over here in the US (at least where I went to school), it didn't matter if guys had piercings. In fact, I've seen some guys with more piercings than girls. The only catch was that it couldn't be any form of body piercing that was visible.

I live in the UK and far as I know boys and girls are allowed to wear earrings at school - it may be different for a Catholic school as they are far too strict.
But I'm not sexist, boys and girls should be equal.
That's like saying boys are allowed to wear trousers and girls have to wear skirts, girls should be allowed to wear trousers.

In my old school some people complained that boys werent allowed to wear ear studs so they stopped it altogether no piercings AT ALL.

That's actually a pretty stupid rule. They're earrings. It's not like someone died because of an earring. And I thought my school's rules were bad, I actually laughed at this.

Or like saying boys should be able to wear bras and thongs?
Anyway, loads of boys wear earings, theres nothing wrong with it.

Boys should be allowed to wear skirts too. It's just not fair.

In my school boys and girls can wear small studs. But if you are a guy, and have them in both ears you will be ripped.

Why would you want a stud in both ears anyway? Is there only me who finds it incredibly femenine for a guy to wear ear-rings? o nose.. i'm being sexist
At my old school, boys and girls had the blanket rule that it was studs only; dangly things, etc were simply unsafe.

The rules here for school wear aren't really enforced unless they're really serious infractions.

I go to the Cathedral School -
Boys - have to wear trousers, can't have hair below their collar, have to wear a tie, can have no facial hair, no coloured socks :S
Girls - have to wear skirts below the knee, have to wear different blouses without a tie
Both - can't have unnatural hair colours, wear any jewelry other than studs, 1 gold chain, no rings, no bracelets
