I've never had any problems with HP printers. Brother makes good ones as well. Only problem is that I don't know if they're available in your area.

Not sure about ink prices but this looks pretty good, cheap and popular;

I'd personally give HP a miss if I were you due to various compatibility issues (They claim to work for various OS's which they often don't), I can vouch for Canon, Samsung and Epson though :)

HP recently has been better but their networking and general compatibility used to be, well, naff.

IMO HP printers are always the way to go, never failed for me, always worked etc but I do know their ink can be fairly expensive.

^ Same. They used to be pants, but in the last couple of years they've been really good.

Ink varies though, the ones where you just have the two or three cartridges (Black, photo and colour) can be cheap but that depends if you use a range of colours. You might be better off for Uni having an HP printer which uses individual cartridges for colour e.g. cyan, yellow, magenta. You won't have to deal with wasting ink, like with the other type you may run of blue but still have yellow in the cartridge which is wasteful, but with the individual cartridges you just buy a new one to replace whatever colour has run out.

And refill them, Recycling is a plus but you also get it cheaper.
