I feel I should clear this up.
I did not buy any Russian Samovars prior to them rising, although I did have two in my room from many months before and they stayed in that room until they actually went under their original price (back to around 1 CS) so I could say at the end; I never made a penny from the whole saga and I did not fix any values.
The reason why they rose was simply because we had a discussion and found that the ione Gift's were actually super rares by the Habbox definition - so I contacted 8Freak8 (General Manager at the time) and asked if we could have a debate on it as he had said he would rather gather opinions on the matter before we made the change.
So the thread was made and they naturally started rising, so I did my job and updated it. I knew at the time that if I had been seen buying and selling Russian Samovars then it certainly would not look very good on me and so I kept away from buying some - so again, no motive for me behind it other than to sort the categories out that the rares were placed within. The accusation that 'Undertaker made a bomb' is totally wrong - I actually lost out from it as the two Samovars I had had many months before this even surfaced, I kept until they went lower than the normal price I bought them for in the place.
No doubt rare values staff at the time made profit on them, but so did many people on the hotel - just as now if I made a thread speculating that the Purple Dragon Lamp was going to rise by a large amount, and it rose a tiny bit; many could start buying and it would rise even more so. If I was out to scam the values at that particular time, I would have surely have fixed the price of the Alien Artifact # 1337 as I had quite a few of them.
I did my job and updated the rare to the price it was going for and I never made a penny from it.
..but Undertaker made a bomb. Not true, I made a loss to stand by my point.
And as for this..
Eventually something happened and it happened fast - everyone went to Dan's room and he was selling hundreds of russian samovars for a high price and once he had sold them all, the price of Russian Samovars slowly started to decline. No you are confusing me with somebody else, a girl who went by the name of Rosy from what I recall. She had hundreds of Samovars you are right on that, and during the time they were rising she had contacted me as Rare Values Manager to ask my advice and so forth on them. I agree it looked bad when you consider that, however seeing as I had only known her for a few days I find it very hard to understand why I would fiddle prices for her and secondly, if I had nothing to gain - why would I fix prices? Surely if I was out to fix prices and make a lot from it I would pick a rare that I had many of, not a rare that somebody I hardly knew had a lot of.
As a result Dan was fired and I think that all of us Rare Values Reporters were replaced too because Sierk didn't want the team that had been there during this scandal.
The majority of reporters resigned as they knew the department and myself were being made scapegoats.
At the time I was working in the Rare Values Team and Dan said "You should buy Russian Samovars, they're increasing in price"
A lot of you asked that if they moved to super rares, would it be likely they would increase - I gave you my opinion which was that yes, they would probably rise if they moved. Again, if I was out to fix prices - I certainly would not have shared my motive in staff forums.
