T-Mobile and Orange's merger is now enabling us to roam onto the other network, I signed up and it's very nice when you're out of coverage! You can only use GPRS internet connections whilst roaming though, and there's no additional charge for using this service :)

Hasn't been activated yet for me :( It's useful though, surprised there isn't a thread already on this!

This is a similar setup to what we have in Canada with Telus and Bell. Canadians are charged a eight dollar a month system access fee (mandatory) which enables us to use the other companies network.

So useful for home, I mostly use my mobile here and T-Mobile's coverage is pretty crappy out in the countryside :P

If you moved to Canada you would learn that there's an entirely new definition for coverage that's really crappy :P

I've just signed up for this. :)

Also, do you need a 3G sim card to get 3G? Because I never get 3G EVER in the UK (I have in France), yet all my friends on the same network get 3G in the exact same places where I don't!

You shouldn't do, your phone may not be 3G compatible.

As I said, i've previously received 3G in France. Besides, I know it's 3G compatible. :P

That's my brain switching off after school xD If you got 3G in France using that same SIM I'd contact the network :P

Thanks for the heads up :D

Just signed up.

At least if I ever lose signal on T-Mobile I can use Orange.
