dreams...

for a few years ive kind of been really interested in dreams and what they are supposed to mean and symbolize etc, all after i found a book in my house called the dream encyclopedia. so if you had a dream about something in particular you would look it up and find out what it means. theres a similar thing online here that i found today: http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/

loads of people dont believe in that kind of thing and its fine but i think it is true, especially as loads of what it says about my dreams are relevant to my thoughts.

example, i had a dream one time that i killed my dad... grim i know. on the site it says under killing;

"...you may be trying to kill an aspect of yourself that is represented by the person killed. Identify the characteristics of this person and ask yourself which of these qualities you are trying to put an end to."

my dad always puts me down a lot, unintentionally (i think) and i think because of it i have very low self confidence, so i think this dream meant i was trying to "kill" my low self confidence because it came from my dad.

i want to know if anyone else is interested in this as well, and if they had an interesting dream they want to share the meaning of with everyone? :)

your dreams do signify something, it's your unconscious mind at work. i don't believe it tells you something you wouldn't know about, like i dreamt about dogs chasing me (ONCE IN TO THE BOYS TOILETS N EVERY1 LAUGHED:() and apparently that meant someone was being disloyal/rude behind my back, i don't see how a dream can know that.
everything in your dream "symbolizes" something, like being in a car crash.. you're the car, you feel like you can't control certain parts of your life. every little detail means something so dream dictionary won't be accurate, any little part of it can change the meaning of the dream like if you were driving, who you were with, location etcetc

To kill your dad because there is a part of him you dislike which you also share but hate it, all just seems a little too deep for me. It would be odd to think that your mind could actually do all that subconsciously. For me my dreams just seem to reflect upon anything that has recently happened in life. Like soon after discovering 2pac and loving all his songs, I had a strange dream about me finding a stash of some of his things that he had hidden, I was putting my hands into a hole and pulling out things such as recording tapes and mobile phones, guns etc.

and i think everyone does that but if you dont ever wake up and remember your dream last night and be like "wow that was a weiiird dream" then i feel kinda sorry for you

I never said anything about killing your dad in real life. Obviously I know that it was just a strange dream and you aren't actually going to act it out in real life if that's what you mean? :S

And yes I do wake up and sometimes think "wow that dream was strange", just like I mentioned about that strange 2pac dream. :P
