Do you count your calories and if so; why?
I count my calories and the reason being I need to make sure I get over a certain amount each day. I also think it's pretty interesting to see how many calories there are in the things I eat. Like just tonight for example I was eating a pizza that contained more than all my recommended calorie intake for the day, just one slice (quarter) was around 700 calories, scary to think it's possible to consume that many calories in under a minute!

No, but I think I should start to tbh.

No.
I suppose it would be advantageous but I don't really want the restrictions and bother of adding up my carlories each day. If you like the food, eat it. Life's too short to worry!

No I don't cos all the foods I like and want to stuff my face with have too many of them! I'm not fat so there isn't that problem but I suppose the whole 'healthy living' thing isnt for me :( ahh chocolate, why do you have to be so yummy!

I count to ensure that I have as many as possible.
No, i'm not joking, i'm really thin, and i've recently been trying everything to put on weight, even though I always eat loads anyway. :P

No. I mean generally I can tell whether I've ate too much or too little and counting calories would probably just get on my nerves after a while.

No, but I usually read the carbohydrate content.

Oh my god the only good answer in this thread except the skinnies who are making sure they get over a certain amount.
It's interesting to see how many people read the fat and salt content when there isn't any reason to (except avoiding excess polyunsaturates). If you think your kidneys are too stupid to excrete excess sodium causing blood pressure to rise then... stop eating all that dogma for breakfast I guess. I guess the fact that saturated fats improve a lipid profile dramatically also slipped the net, just because they ever so slightly increase total cholesterol, not that total cholesterol means anything. But since people only remember what they want ot hear I expect this will just be ignored.

No. I used to. But now that I am eating the same foods such as chicken, turkey, lean mince, beef, eggs etc. I know roughly what they equate to.

Not really, I eat what I eat but obviously don't go overboard and eat everything in the fridge. Just make sure I'm not eating loads of crap?

I never count my calories as I am underweight.

I don't, but I rarely eat pre-made food. It would be difficult to count the calories in home made things like spaghetti pomodoro, courgette and bacon pasta, and even something as simple as a bacon sandwich :P

Underweight can be just as unhealthy as overweight, you could be suffering from malnutrition if you don't eat enough each day so I'd strongly recommend that you started to make sure your body is consuming enough calories each day. Especially if you are still growing, your body needs a good amount of food to ensure proper growth and development.

I never count my calories. I would like to think I am in decent shape though. I just stay off extremely fatty food, and only eat junk food very rarely.

No, because I know what a sensible amount to eat is - there is no need to eat calories if you eat sensibly (one main meal, breakfast (toast/cereal), and some small for lunch)

Not to the specific calorie no, I usually just round them off at the easiest number.

No I don't...mainly because I need to put on weight if anything. So as long as I'm eating 3+ reasonably sized meals a day, it won't matter lol.

It will matter, what if there are only about 500 calories in each meal, then you could actually be losing weight depending on how active you are?

I'm active, but the point is as long as I eat *enough* then I'm good. And considering I have a prescribed drink which gives me 600 calories twice a day...I think I'm ok :)

I play a lot of sports, I'm not at all concerned about my weight or counting calories. It's not a healthy lifestyle doing that if you ask me. :(
I didn't tihnk many people did anymore. I don't but I should. Getting a BELLEH
