Hi,
Whenever I open Windows Live Messenger it says "Window's Live Messenger has stop working"
Any ideas / suggestions?

Its probably because they don’t really use MSN anymore its all based upon Windows Live Messenger now the latest version is 8.1 so go download it.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling it. If that doesnt work then try uninstalling it using Perfect Uninstaller which will remove everything from the uninstall that was left over. Then try installing again

What operating system do you have?
Also try closing all programs except trying to open MSN. Make sure all icons in the taskbar are gone (Closed down or disabled).
Also use windows update as i have known it fixed a smiliar problem last time with my mate.

Try running in compatability mode for XP or vista? :) or add more memory to your paging file or even change your paging file to system managed :)
Lew.
1- click RUN from START menu and type REGEDIT:
2- follow path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMessenger/PerPassportSettings.
3- under PerPassportSettings, you should find 2 folders named with a series of numbers. Delete both folders including their sub-files... and restart MSN. It worked for me.
